Prime Detlef was skilled enough to probably get max money in todays league yet he is called a role player?

Pretty good shout. Averaging 15.0 ppg or higher for 10 straight seasons is impressive. You can argue he was the 3rd best player on the 1996 Sonics team that went to the finals. Definitely was a very good player that the younger generation asks, "who?"

Just add balls, better shooting, and a lot more alpha.

Kevin Love went to Cleveland and became Detlef Schrempf

He would've had a ring if the Trail Blazers didn't choke against the Lakers in 2000 WCF.

Plus a flat top + baby mullet or stache at times.

The thing about Detlef, would be given a chance today? Detlef was not Dirk, Detlef was an American European player. He played like an American, tough, drive, rebound, defend. Teams might not trust his athleticism as with so many white players today, but Detlef was a tough player.

Solid player. Kind of easy to overlook because there were so many great/excellent players playing at that time.
