LOL! These is what I've been saying for the past 15+ years. NO RIVALRIES ARE KILLING THE NBA!!! The soft buddy buddy nature the NBA has adopted have absolutely extinguished the emotional connection of the fans with players and teams. Wait until teams stat shooting 50 threes a game with little to no contact if ever and seen if it's going to get even minimal viewership!

Nobody is religiously watching 82 games of their favorite team on TV, that's too much. People will do it for the NFL because that's only once a week and you can appreciate football on a bigger screen.

Nobody is religously watching ANYTHING about the NBA now a days, that's what happens when you turn a hardcore sporting competition into a soft, lifeless, uncreative 3 point shooting exhibition!

The league is soul-less. Way too corporate. Too disney-ish. Sure guys can jump really high but way too many players that come into the league unpolished..that makes for bad basketball. No rivals, everyone is friends. Players quit on coaches..players should not be running things. Refs don't call travels or illegal screens anymore. They don't even hide their ref tricks anymore. Before you know it they will stitch advertisements on the players uniforms like the wnba..than you know it's done.
