Cruz only wins in inbred states like Idaho and Texas. All non-inbred states are going to vote Trump. You really think fatass redneck Cruz has any chance on the West Coast? XD

Cruz actually worked for Bush and is backed by the Bushes. So he's a Bush guy.
He is not. He worked on the Bush 2000 campaign and he expected a big job in the White House when they won, but he didn't get it. The reason he didn't get it is because Ted Cruz is Dick.
But 16 years ago, as a young domestic policy adviser for Bush’s 2000 campaign, Cruz himself had sought Washington’s embrace. He’d uprooted his life, taken an 80 percent pay cut and moved to Austin, Texas, with visions of a big, important White House job to follow.
Almost from his arrival at Bush’s headquarters, colleagues say Cruz flashed many of the same assets and liabilities still on his political balance sheet: acumen and ambition, combative and conservative instincts, elbows as sharp as his smarts, a knack for self-promotion and rubbing colleagues the wrong way.
When Bush won, however, Cruz would not get the White House post he had dreamed of; instead, he found himself in the bureaucratic backwater of the Federal Trade Commission. “Through mistakes of my own, I put the fault nowhere other than myself, I burned some bridges on that campaign,” Cruz told Politico in an interview. “I chalk it up to youth and immaturity.”
“It was a difficult chapter when you poured your heart into something for two years and the desires of your heart are denied. That’s hard. And particularly when you’re seeing so many of your friends rewarded.
Read more: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2016/01/ted-cruz-2016-establishment-george-bush-213561#ixzz42XdsdlQ7 They actually interviewed him for spot on the White House legal team, but he wanted a bigger job then they offered him. Instead, they decided he shouldn't work any where near the White House. The article talks about how he always tried to promote himself to reporters working on the campaign and also tried to get face time with Bush. The article mentions his coworkers would roll their eyes when they talked about how unsubtle his career grubbing was. He also would leave work at 5pm. Then come back into the office at 10 or 11 just to send emails to top officials and make it look like he was working all night.
TL/DR Cruz desperately wanted job in the Bush White House, but they gave him a shitty job not in the White House because he is a self-promoting dick.

Wonder if this will come up in the debate. Trump's campaign manager roughed up a female reporter.
Plot twist: She works for Breitbart.
Exclusive: Transcript of female Breitbart reporter being roughed up by Trump campaign manager
Donald Trump's spokesperson flatly denied on Thursday that campaign manager Corey Lewandowski roughed up a reporter for the conservative website Breitbart, and suggested she was fabricating the incident in a desperate bid for attention.
A roughly two and a half minute audio recording of the incident obtained by POLITICO — while not definitive — supports the reporter's version of the events, which were witnessed by Washington Post reporter Ben Terris.
A transcript of the alleged altercation between the reporter, Michelle Fields, and Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, follows below, along with her conversation with Terris:
***
Din of people talking, clanking of glasses, snippets of conversation, reporters telling one another to 'move up a little', greeting each other, saying 'good to see you' saying 'OK good quote then', then clearly action picks up as cameras start clicking.
Fields: “Mr. Trump, you went after the late Scalia for affirmative action, do you -- are you still against affirmative action?"
Voice (allegedly Corey Lewandowski): “Excuse me, thank you.”
A few moments later (noise of the room can be heard)...
Terris: “You OK?"
Fields: “Holy sh*t."
Terris: “Yea he just threw you down."
Fields: “I can’t believe he just did that that was so hard. Was that Corey?"
Terris: “Yeah, like, what threat were you?"
Fields: "That was insane. You should have felt how hard he grabbed me. That's insane. I’ve never had anyone do that to me from a campaign."
Terris: “Can I put that in my story?"
Fields: “Yeah, go for it — that was really awful. That’s so unprofessional.”
Terris: “He really just almost threw you down on the ground."
Fields: “He literally went like this and was grabbing me down. I don’t even what to do [about] what he just did to me. Oh my God, that really spooked me that someone would do that."
Terris: “What threat were you?"
Fields: “Nothing. I was asking about affirmative action."
Terris: “And he probably knows you, right?"
Fields: “Yeah, I don’t understand. That looks horrible. You’re going after a Breitbart reporter, the people who are nicest to you?"
Terris: “I know, I’m going to put it in my story."
The two stop talking. Din/noise of people talking, glasses clinking continue through end of the recording.

The solution to radical Islam is simple. You kill them. You then imprison those friends or relatives that knew about it but refused to come forward. You treat them as enemies of the state.
You prop up Islamic reformers such as Zuhdi Jasser and invite them a billion times to the White House if you have to. Maybe even make Zuhdi part of the cabinet. That way he's on TV 24/7 talking about separation of mosque and state.

Terrorism is a tricky issue and Ive never actually seen a concrete solution from anyone scholar, politician, idealist, etc.
In any case there really has to be an internal revolution against Islam from Islamist and not in a hate sort of way. Just a movement away from religion. It needs to be slow, but I suppose the biggest thing to push is education and hope the kids realize that religion is nonsense.

While I agree as president one shouldn't get too involved with affairs such as those. Perhaps more state level politicians but I will say we have had issues like this under Bush and everyone else. I truly believe a black man being elected into office ruffled a lot of feathers.
Problem is, because it was a black man supporting a black kid in these situations the issue of him "taking sides" becomes a thing which racist America isn't too fond of.

If you want to blame the debt being where it is, you have to look at Mr Bush. Look at the deficit he left behind, economy in shambles and 2 wars going simultaneously (1 being completely unnecessary). Under Obama, deficit has been cut by a big chunk, economy has rebounded from recession to somewhat respectable. The wars are pretty much finished (1 is finished). If you can't respect that then you won't respect anything he does that is positive.
Without war in Iraq, there would be no ISIS and significantly lower deficit and debt. Keep that in mind.

The Tea Party was an explosion of paranoia and anger and was heavily promoted by conservative media including this exploiter of the paranoid (http://www.seattletimes.com/entertainment/beck-help-us-restore-traditional-american-values/) who got a platform on the most important Republican/Conservative media channel to rant about how un-American the new president was. It was embraced by Republican politicians including the previous VP candidate.
The point of the signs from Tea Party rallies, these folks had lost their minds before the President even did any the things "that set back race relations" 40 years. Fox News was complicit in a strategy to absolutely de-legitimize the presidency from day one.

-higher solar activity than before this period
-relatively low volcanic activity allowed more radiation to enter the atmosphere, meaning warmer days
There is evidence for both things. Also note that sea levels did not rise like they are now, which means the average global temps did not increase anywhere near where it is today.
In current times, Solar activity is not and has not been elevated. Volcanic activity is currently within the average. So these 2 things don't account for rise in temperatures in modern times. It is something else. That something else is greenhouse gases, which are emitted from burning fossil fuels. There is clearly evidence that temperatures are currently rising due to more greenhouse gases. We can measure this, and on average, it is elevated and still rising.

I always laugh at the people who discuss climate change with such certainty, as if they could have any idea what would've happened without it. See this, for example:
. Using an ensemble of simulations generated by an Earth system model of intermediate complexity constrained by palaeoclimatic data, we suggest that glacial inception was narrowly missed before the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. The missed inception can be accounted for by the combined effect of relatively high late-Holocene CO2 concentrations and the low orbital eccentricity of the Earth7. Additionally, our analysis suggests that even in the absence of human perturbations no substantial build-up of ice sheets would occur within the next several thousand years and that the current interglacial would probably last for another 50,000 years. However, moderate anthropogenic cumulative CO2 emissions of 1,000 to 1,500 gigatonnes of carbon will postpone the next glacial inception by at least 100,000 years8, 9. Our simulations demonstrate that under natural conditions alone the Earth system would be expected to remain in the present delicately balanced interglacial climate state, steering clear of both large-scale glaciation of the Northern Hemisphere and its complete deglaciation, for an unusually long time.

We are already seeing the impacts of it. You look at the trajectories over time by taking into account changes in things like greenhouse gases. We already know how greenhouse effect works. More greenhouse gases circulating = rise in temperatures.

Insider trading, diligent research, or luck.
We've only had these instruments that accurately measure climate change since the 1960s.
Our sample size is too tiny to draw any conclusions, especially when you look back on the earth's history of cooling and warming all on its own that was going on long before the first signs of life even existed.

Did you not even read the paper I posted? According to that research (published in Nature), without the onset of the industrial revolution, we would already have been plunged into a glacial period of the Ice Age we're currently in, which would've brought human development to a halt. It shows that our carbon emissions have actually made the climate far more stable than it otherwise would've been, at least in the short-term.
And i'm not sure what kind of expertise a plant ecologist can bring to the question of climate change. I'm aware there's a strong consensus that man-made climate change is a reality (and i never said otherwise: that's just your lack of comprehension again), but aside from that, there isn't much consensus regarding how much it's happening, nor what we ought to do about it.
And you, playing with your plants, really can know nothing more than that; and to pretend you do, just shows what an arrogant and conceited and delusional nincompoop you are.

Explain how you believe Obama himself set race relations back 40 years. In what ways did he do that?
He had the audacity to be a black president.

Climate change plays a big role in plant life-cycles and growing seasons, and is also influencing plant distribution and diversity around the globe. Botany is one of the main fields where you can really measure the impacts of climate change. Your average plant biologist probably knows quite a bit about climate change, more than your average thesaurus wielding keyboard warrior I would imagine.

Kasich is a rabid neo-con who wants to start a war with Russia and China. Other than that he seems fine.

And you, playing with your plants, really can know nothing more than that; and to pretend you do, just shows what an arrogant and conceited and delusional nincompoop you are.
Keep talking. You are just flaunting your scientific knowledge right now. Why on Earth would a forest ecologist know anything about or study climate change?
:lol
You're mentally disabled right? That's the only explanation I can think of.

No, they really, really don't. There 's many people who make the study of these things their lives, and still they're no closer to a definitive anser to the questions i've raised. That someone who studies plants could have an anseer to these things because he's studied changing life-cycles is frankly ludicrous. How is that supposed to answer whether the industrial revolution prevented a glacial period, in which case none of us would be here? There is sooo much conjecture in this filed, so pretending otherwise is just facile. They know, a. Climate change is happening. and b. human beings have had an affect on changing climate cycles, though it is still not know whether this was even a good or bad thing. Anything else is little more than speculation.
And I like how neither of you bothered to address the Nature paper I posted: instead you ignored the whole thing, and went for the emotive dismissal that is the stock and trade of all fanatics who believe things without having any evidence for doing so.
Standard.

oooohhh another insult from the angry and bitter plant ecologist, so depressed that the only living things he has contact with are plants, that he resorts to hurling abuse at people over the internet just so he can feel something.
Glad i'm not you.

I just posted something I'd found and thought was interesting, which demonstrates just how difficult it is to be certain about these things. As human beings, we are still riddled with ignorance, about all kinds of things, and the law of unintended consequences has shown time and time again that small actions have far-reaching consequences that no-one can predict; it's one of the mysteries of life. But of course, the dull and unimaginative grasp at their certainties like a fanatic at his cross, largely because they haven't got religion any more, so they need to direct their innate fanaticism towards different outlets, very often scientism, and its infallible representative: "the expert."
Is no one else interested in the possibility that the industrial revolution could've prevented a glacial period? It is a remarkable finding really, and goes to show how little we understand.
But as it's ISHs, the typical way when one brings up an interesting idea, is for people to hurl abuse it you, either directly, or through the "rep" system; you guys are so damn sad :facepalm.

What evidence do you have that the trajectory before industrial revolution was heading towards an ice age? Ice age does not typically take place within a very short period and builds up over time. The exception is if a supervolcano erupts or asteroid strikes Earth or something insane and sunlight gets blocked for extensive periods due to cloud/dust buildup. Naturally? It doesn't happen within a short window.
The article you posted says:
Additionally, our analysis suggests that even in the absence of human perturbations no substantial build-up of ice sheets would occur within the next several thousand years and that the current interglacial would probably last for another 50,000 years.
50,000 years if we exclude any anthropocentric effects due to human doing. Yet somehow 175 years ago, we averted an ice age thanks to industrial revolution? It doesn't add up.

yes, they really, really do. that someone who studies botany is more tapped in to climate science than some jabroni ass keyboard warrior is not remotely ludicrous. :oldlol:
did you even bother to read any of that paper you posted? I didnt really think it was worth addressing.

if you think the paper is saying an ice age was averted thanks to the industrial revolution you clearly misunderstood. how is any of this relevant regarding climate change in the 21st century anyway?

Just because you don't understand climate change, are overwhelmed by it, and don't know how to scientifically test it doesn't mean it's false. It's real, accepted and thoroughly tested by the scientific community, and is currently the focus of about 75% of all environmental and physical scientific research.
The fact that you can't comprehend this further illustrates that you are a poser keyboard warrior faux-intellectual.
