Spurs fans were dismayed this morning to learn that the greatest power forward in NBA history has reached his final decade of playing the sport.

“I’m 39 now, and my body is feeling it,” said Duncan to assembled media members. “I just don’t think I can play another 12 to 14 years, like [head coach Gregg] Pop[ovich] and I had talked about.”

Duncan’s teammates were shocked by the news, many of them learning Duncan won’t be roaming the paint for the 2025-26 season on Twitter.

“It all just happened so fast,” said Manu Ginobili, who will likely play for the Spurs for only the next 2-3 decades himself. “A great man, a great leader, and a defeater of that dick named Padre Tiempo.”

Duncan also noted his desire not to win more than 3-4 more championships, because he wants to give “those kids in their mid-30s” a chance.

I hope he, Dirk, and KG retire this season. Kobe, Dirk, Duncan, KG? GOAT HOF class.

Kobe announcing retirement = distasteful/egotistical

Timmy announcing retirement= honest, respectful and humble

:wtf:

Anyway, it's been a great run for Tim. As a lakers fan, I hated the Ginobli, Bowen and Duncan era the MOST.

He's not saying this is his last season. Did you guys even read what was in the OP?

To the naive: the article was from The Kicker, a sports comedy website. I hate explaining the obvious but it seems like some of yall need to know.

He's barely played this year, I don't think there's much left in the tank after the Playoff run.

He should play 2 more years

I think it'll be based on success.

If the Spurs win the title this season, Duncan will retire on top kind of like Peyton, except more productive to his team.

If they lose this season, I think he'll have one more huraah next year.

He's played in nearly 50 games this season. What you mean barely?

Scared me for a minute. He didn't announce anything.

I think he'll retire if we go out early or win the chip.

If we get close (close WCF series, Finals) and don't win it all I think he'll return for one more year.
