Yes, family wealth matters a helluva lot more than any other quality such as intelligence, work ethic, university education, etc. Its the sad truth. The lack of it is not just limited to blacks.

if you can't condense a political message into a meme it isn't worth stating

Did Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, Buffett come from family wealth?

No, and look at the jews who came to America during and after WW2 most of whom left everything behind. It took them less than a decade to exceed the median income of the rest of the population

Asians we're the same way.

I don't remember my dad ever giving me a briefcase full of money. I want my white privilege. And ironically I grew up poorer than poor.

Obviously there is some truth here, although this strip makes it look as though the black father has a lot to give but just refuses to on principle, but I think it is more to do with the fact that the black father just doesn't have anything to pass on.

LET ME ASK THIS THOUGH...is the black son upset because of his own personal situation, or is he upset at everyone else's situation? ALL of us have less than someone else, you can't go through life being pissed off at what other people have. I've worked 100x harder in my life than all those trust fund babies out there, but crying about it won't get me anywhere.

Yes, there is truth. its pathetic to see poor people not building a foundation for their kids to succeed, and in return, those kids blame white people and their government for their disadvantage instead of blaming their parents and most importantly, themselves.

Excuses. Yea you are at a disadvantage of you aren't born rich but you have all the opportunity you need to pull yourself up

This.

Yes, white people that come from generational wealth are at an advantage, and some of the wealth could be attributed to discrimination to blacks and slavery.

But we live in one of of the most capitalistic countries in the world. If you have a skill the market values you will generally be rewarded for it, and the market generally doesn't care about your ethnicity.

How did they accomplish that? What habits and mores did they have to exceed the median income of the rest of the population?
