Jesus encouraged individuals to be charitable and to help other people. He did not demand that the Roman Empire tax the hell out of people to do wealth redistribution.

There's a reason why you'll notice that Christians donate A LOT more to charity than smug "liberals" who simply advocate that the government should take somebody else's money (never their own) and redistribute it.

Jesus never told his followers "demand Caesar to take people's money and give it to you".
