trevor ariza is perhaps my all-time favorite role-player. he's not only the consummate professional, but he plays hard and he always hit the biggest shots when you need them the most. he stays ready and it seems like every team he's been on succeeds.

Wouldn't mind a younger, healthier Baron Davis right about now -

I don't think young B-Diddy was ever a role player. Dude was a prime time playoff performer, being the main reason the Charlotte Hornets beat TMac's Magic and when the Warriors beat the Mavs in that big 8 beating 1 upset.

I go with James Posey or Bruce Bowen. These guys were elite defenders that were great on 3 pointers. Hate Robert Horry but might even go with him. The guy was money in the clutch.

Clutch as hell, always came through when needed, his clutchness would rub off on his teammates, didn't have an ego, rarely turns the ball over, always makes the smart play.

Also he has the legendary clutch Super Saiyan gear he goes in to in big time games

Captain Clutch. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSnAvhvfniw)

I would have said Robert Horry but I think Fish has same level of clutch shot making ability and overall does more for the team than Horry does when he's not hitting clutch shots.

Dave Debusschere - Ferocious defender, great rebounder, consummate team player, and sweet touch from mid-range.

Dennis Johnson - Always underrated. Another great defender and team player.

Joe Dumars - Possibly as good as I.Thomas, but content as a role player. Better defender than any other. (Rodman also from this Pistons team.)

Robert Horry

How can he be a role-player, when he's the best player on the team?

Bruce Bowen on this current Heat team would make it a contender. Dude would provide the Heat much needed shooting and would make the team the #1 defense in the league. Perfect player for the team.

I'm going to solely go based off the Clipper history and not period, as if it were period, plugging in Bruce Bowen would be so damn perfect at the three, same with Tayshaun Prince.

In Clipper history though, Corey Maggette would fit in perfectly at the SF slot for us. His defense may not be what Doc would want, but his driving ability would be great. I'd like to believe his jumper would take a boost as well.

Cuttino Mobley is another I'd be content with playing as a small three.

Of guys less talked about, I'd go with Zeljko Rebraca to be our backup big man.
