Former Penthouse Pet Sandra Taylor claims that Trump was an amazing lover when the two enjoyed a brief fling in 1991, gushing about the presidential's hopefuls sexual prowess.
She said of Trump, who had his secretary track her down after spotting her on the cover of New York magazine; 'Omigosh, he was great'.

Take Your Lumps
03-15-2016, 01:39 PM
The GOP blew their chance at ousting Trump. He's going to win Florida and it's going to be a wrap after that.

They needed to pull out all the stops starting the day after Michigan to force Rubio to drop out. It's just embarrassing at this point.

They then could have rallied around Kasich to shoot for him to beat Trump in Ohio AND Florida on the same day.

They're getting what they deserve though so :confusedshrug:

The GOP blew their chance at ousting Trump. He's going to win Florida and it's going to be a wrap after that.

Trump is not guaranteed to get the delegates he needs to win the nomination.

He's just slightly ahead of where he needs to be. For Trump to stay on target he needs 272 of the 367 delegates today.

Kasich and Rubio will probably drop out after tonight. That makes it a two man race with a clear anti-Trump choice.

Yup, if you have a voter's card just show up. It might be a good idea to contact your local county registration office first (just Google). They'll tell you exactly where you need to go based on your address. I'm an independent and had never voted before either (although I've been eligible since 2004), but I was told to go to the Republican precinct on account of my Trump vote which happened to be really close by and crowd-free.

in missouri you only need your ID, but if you have a voter card bring that too. you can check online to figure out where your polling place is. just google "my state" polling place and you're good.

It's not the republican leaders, but the delegates themselves. Delegates are usually insiders, but maybe more at the state level than "leaders" at the national level. So it's 2,472 people who get to vote.

If no one has the majority of delegates after the first vote of the convention.....the first vote will pretty much match the election totals, the second vote is taken with 55% of the delegates freed up to vote for whoever they want. If that still doesn't produce someone with the majority, then do another vote with like 75% able to vote for whoever they wish.

Let's say the Cruz has 800 delegates and Rubio 500 and Kasich 200. They could direct their delegates who to vote for if this worked out, they could get a combined 1500 delegates for someone. However, they can't force their delegates to vote this way.

The Republican race will likely go all the way to June. As will the Democratic race. California's primary is June 7. It has 11.5% of Democratic Delegates and 7%

Voters in Apopka, Florida, were turned away from their polling place by workers who said they ran out of Republican ballots.

At two polling places where long lines were visible, voters were turned away, ClickOrlando.com is reporting. New ballots were being printed and sent to the polling places, but many voters said they had other commitments and left.

This is what happens if both Rubio and Kasich drop out and the 80% of their votes go to Cruz. This is a regression test where a model is run like 10,000 times with the variables tweaked.

80% seems way too high, but recent polls show Trump losing one on one races

NBC/WSJ
The new NBC/WSJ poll also shows Trump trailing his rivals in hypothetical one-on-one match-ups. Cruz and Kasich best Trump by an identical 17 points,

Kasich staying in the race improves Trumps chances of getting to 1237 because it needs to get to a two-man race. It's too late for a comeback because he won't get to 1237.

Delegates at the convention can vote for whoever they want if Trump doesn't get to 1237.

So if Kasich wants to try and be the nominee coming out of the convention, his best bet is to exit the race right after his win tonight.

I think he has a shot at it too. If the anti-trump delegates are freely choosing between him, rubio and cruz, I think Kasich is the most palatable. The Cruz camp won't give it to Rubio and the Rubio camp won't give it to Cruz. Donors would support it as it gives the Republicans a real shot at winning Ohio.

It's the nominating process of the Republican Party. The Republican party gets to choose their nominee. If a candidate doesn't get the majority of delegates they can seek a candidate who palatable to all the different parts of the party.

There is one rule they put in in 2012 that I bet they change. That rule is the candidate would have to have won the most delegates in at least 8 states.

One of the first bits of business at a convention is to vote on the rules.

March 15 367 delegates will be at stake in 6 contests. Trump's target is 272 delegates.

Worst voting experience ever.

The workers in there were nasty. Had the attitudes of a DHS employee and the mean cashier bitch at the rib shack combined.

They didn't ask for my ID (I could have been anybody strolling up in there). Couple minutes later, "Maybelline" jumps up and starts yelling at some people coming in the door to vote in an angry tone: "You walked in here after 7pm. We CANNOT service you. The doors should be LOCKED right now" Everybody of course gets pissed and start shouting back at her (She indeed was disrespectful), and most of them were like "F*ck it, I'm out"....."This is why sh*t so f*cked up now"....."This is why people don't vote".....and started storming out the door.

Turns out it was only 6:55pm. One of the other workers called her out on it and they get to arguing. Then some other staff person ran outside to convince the people to come back in and vote. Some came back, but the rest of them were like "to hell with this" and didn't come back. People are exercising their basic rights and you make them feel not welcome. It was awful.

It's not the republican leaders, but the delegates themselves. Delegates are usually insiders, but maybe more at the state level than "leaders" at the national level. So it's 2,472 people who get to vote.
Who those 2,472 delegates are has not been decided yet. Just saw someone suggest that clever folks may try to steer folks not solid on Trump into those 2,472.

Brokered convention is a good possibility. Kasich staying in hurts that.

He could win around 40 percent of North Carolina’s 72 delegates, which would get him to 600. But if he were to sweep Illinois and Missouri’s 26 districts, he would net another 121 delegates, putting him at 721, just above the 719 mark.

There's delegates and superdelegates in the Democratic party.
In the Republican party, they are pledged delegates and open or unpledged delegates. A much smaller number in the R than Ds.

These are two political parties picking their candidates and then have their own rules for doing so. Republicans have a lot of winner take all states. Democrats award their delegates proportionally for all states.

So they set the rules. In fact, one of the first things that happens at a political conventions is the rules are voted on by the delegates. The Delegates get chosen at State political parties (http://nydems.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/120415NY-Guide-FAV2.pdf) before the national convention.

So putting aside superdelegates. Delegates are folks who get to vote on the nominee. Usually they are pledged to a certain candidate for the first vote at the convention. If the candidate has enough delegates on the first ballot, they win the nomination.

Why not just do this automatically and not use real people? The answer is if no candidate wins the nomination on the first ballot they need to vote again. It has gone to hundreds of ballots in the past. FDR won on the fourth ballot his first time. You have to have live thinking individuals to cast the votes, because tons of stuff change. Usually after the first vote, the delegates or a big percentage of them can vote for anyone.

For the second and third ballots, you have polliticking and horsetrading and you might have coalitions of delegates form, say northern states vs southern states, free-traders vs protectionists.

The idea is to pick a candidate who appeals broadly within the party.

So even without superdelegates you still need delegates.

FillJackson
03-16-2016, 02:19 AM
Superdelegates in the Democratic Party came about after the party got wiped out by Nixon in 1972, basically the Democrats picked the candidate, least likely to win in the general election. So superdelegates were insituted with the idea that electability would be considered.

It also keeps out a usurper who is not part of your party winning. Someone like Trump.

Ah, I see.

Good info. Thanks.

See, the issue I have is with superdelegates siding with Clinton even in the few states that Bernie blew out Hillary, such as Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, etc. It is a bit disconcerting to see majority of superdelegates siding with Hillary even if Bernie won by big margin there.

It should be that if you win a state big, the majority of superdelegates must side with you. Go state by state in the name of democracy.

Ricky Rubio can't even win his home state.

Big Poppa Trump stays winning.

But the Dems of ISH were telling me all weekend long that Trump was finished and that he would lose to Cruz after the Bernie/Hilldawg rioters disrupted Trump's rally.

The Dems of ISH told me that Donald Trump was done after his "meltdown" response to the violent rioters attacking his supporters.

What am I supposed to believe? They told me Trump was done, and yet he just won Florida in a dominant fashion!:confusedshrug:
Lol, can you link posts to show which Dems said all these things you claim?

Get it through yer thick skull, WE WANT TO FACE TRUMP!!!

Dude's negatives are through the roof, he'll guarantee that all the groups come out to vote for our candidate AND against Trump. Trump has zero chance in the GE.

Next second best option for us is a brokered convention where the GOP forces another candidate as their nominee, then Trump goes on a thrid party presidential run, stealing a huge percentage of GOP votes, ensuring the Democrat's win and destroying the GOP in the process.

This is what we want, stop claiming Dems are afraid of Trump you delusional limey cvnt :oldlol:

and Trump will win 42 of 52 delegates because Cruz ran up his numbers in one district and has only won 2 compared to 6 for trump (5 delegates to winner of each district):lol

It's Missouri. So Cruz and Trump got 53.72% of the vote in a state where Romney won 53.76% of the vote. Seems about on target.

If wanted to win the superdelegates, Bernie probably should have thought about joining the Democratic Party some time before 2015. He probably should have thought about arguing that the Democratic President should face a primary opponent in 2012

Did Romney get 2.5 million votes too?

Or do he get 54% of the vote with a million votes less?

Cruz needs to win more than 80% of the remaining delegates to get to 1237. It's not gonna happen. His only chance is nobody getting 1237 and him getting picked at a contested convention.
