He's leading his team to possibly the best record in NBA history.

Obvi. :hammerhead:

No, I'd take James Harden over him.

Leading scorer or best player? With the right cast around him I could see him being the top scorer on a title contender, but there would probably have to be at least one other player with a comparable or better overall impact. For him to be the best player it would have to be an ensemble cast like the 2004 Pistons (imo).

No, he's not that good. He's brilliant with Curry but ask him to carry a team and no way. If he could really handle that ball like Curry then yes.

As in he would be the guy who would consistently have to break down set defenses and create his own shot or create for others? Hell no. There are hierarchies in bball. Klay is an amazing 2nd fiddle but doesn't have the overall ability to break down defenders to be "the man." The guy needs another star to attract the attention of the D and play off of that.

Isaiah Thomas
Klay Thompson
Jae Crowder
Paul Milsap
Al Horford

Yeah I could trust him with something like that.

every player does though, can't win alone he can be the best player on a team without having to create for others and create his own shot all the time.

He's better off as a very good second option.

For Thompson to be the top guy on a championship team, then I'd think the team would have to be a very balanced and deep team, like the 04' Pistons or the Spurs on the last few years.

NEVER

he is a spot up shooter , and slashes backdoor 3 times a game.
he can not guard opposing PG's and his defense against slashers is not good.

Well, he already is the best player on his team, and the Warriors have no problem with it.
