[QUOTE]Still, so much remains unknown. The lure of playing with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson has to be appealing, but would Durant really jump to a possible two-time champion, to a team that will never be his? [B]San Antonio has rebuilt its dynasty, but rival executives believe the Spurs will explore ways of adding Durant to the mix, and the franchise

What playoff team wouldn't pitch the idea of Kevin Durant joining their roster?

Lol every team will make a pitch to Durant. Don't matter tho he will sign a 1+1 and stay in okc for at least another year.

This. westbrooke contract ends after next season and I'm sure depending on his decision is what Durant will do.

Do the Spurs even have max money available to offer him?

Sounds like an even bigger pipe than Durant to GS

Spurs actually do. Manu and Tim coming off the books. new TV deal increases cap. They will have plenty of money.

Id like to see them go after an elite PG though.

All these guys will wait for Summer 17 to get royally paid.

Durant will be 28... Get the chance at a 200 million dollar contract that he can retire on....

Pop system makes the spurs work well without an elite pg. yall could really benefit from having durant moreso than an elite pg. unless that pg happens to be giannis(impossible of course)

Why would it be stupid? Any team that can get KD should. Durant, Leonard and Aldridge make a trio that would absolutely rival Golden State for years. Plus there is a chance Durant goes to Golden State, a scenario the Spurs should prevent at all costs.

They have $85,480,753 in active contracts committed for the 2016-2017 season. They would have to salary dump Tony Parker and Danny Green in order for this to happen. Green has 2 years left(including a player option). Parker has an expiring contract. If the Spurs eliminate the Thunder in the 2nd round I can't see Durant joining the team that just beat him in the playoffs.

They have 84.5 million committed in contracts right now which could go lower if Tim Duncan and Manu retire. They would be at 76 million if both retire.

Projected cap is 89 million. There is no way the Spurs can sign Durant for 13 million.

I figured that Spurs fan that said it was possible if Timmy and Manu might retire (aren't they both on super cheap contracts? lol) didn't know wtf he was talking about.

IMO Bogut and Iggy(both expiring contracts) will be easier to salary dump than Parker(expiring but higher salary) and Green(kind of sucks now and has 2 years left).

Then there is also boris Diaw which is a team option for next season right ?
That's another 8M. Maybe try and move Parker.. Well that is easily enough space... Plus maybe enough $ left over to try and sign another pg

this, I have no idea why people even entertain these reports. Durant won't sign a big deal with anybody until 2017

Durant is not going to a team that just beat the all-time regular season wins record.

This would be sweet

The Spurs flame would continue for another decade

Durant is the perfect player for a team like that

Imagine him on those wrap around tony parker plays, playing the high post with his talents.. Just everywhere on the court

And if Pop can get aldridge playing top defense, Durant and his length will make a killing

Kawhi

He's definitely got a Spurs type disposition. For once I'd like to see one of these stars just sign with a random team and take on a challenge, how about the Bucks KD? Suns? KD to the Nets!!!!

I think Durant would fit in with the Spurs like a glove. I could see him as a Spur before a Warriors for sure.

What would the lineup be?

Tony
KD at 2?
Kawhi at the 3
Aldridge at the 4
Duncan at Center

or if Duncan retires, keep kawhi at the 3 and put Durant at the 4 with Aldridge playing center although he wouldn't like it.

What would the Spurs roster be? Durant at SG? They already have Kawhi and Aldridge. Would Kawhi play PF and Aldridge C?

I went to college with him. He played one year at Texas. LMA played two years there. No one talked about him coming home. And he was BORN in Dallas.

I'd respect him a bit more if he went to the Spurs instead of the Warriors. Still want him in LA.

Nobody talked about LMA going home to Texas? What are you talking about. That was frequently talked about as a significant factor.

Agreed, unless the Spurs win it this year. Can't just be a top 3 player and join the reigning champions.
