I could understand it not being in the OP or first post if this was an allround music thread, but Illmatic IS the best rap album of all time. Easily

Hmmm.... I used to say so for years. But I have learned to appreciate IWW more and more as the years went by.
And to be honest, Illmatic sounds kinda dated, whereas IWW still sounds great all the way through. While Illmatic Nas was raw as hell, his writing, rhyming and flow got better on IWW. To top it off Illmatic was a superior mainstream album that everyone could play.
IWW >> Dylan
Yup I said it. :pimp:

Liquid Swords
Shit is sharp as f*ck.
I still remember when the album dropped, Dat intro.....

Liquid Swords is like watching Tom Collichio go against contestants.... pure mastery.

"lyrics are weak like clock radio speakers"
That line has stuck with me for ages.
Very subtle, but the image is sharp.

Deep lyrics. GZA is always tighter than anyone on the lyrics. This album had such distinct style and theme. You'd be extremely hard pressed to find an artist today with such unique flavor

Ka is the modern day GZA.
Cold and sharp lyricist, but can be boring.
With marred mental
I'm God's pencil to stencil unique
Was birthed to serf servant
Observing emperors eat
To gain a grain or morsel
Soft became forceful
Of course you from the shit
When punishment remain corporal
