A lot of people would pay a lot of money to see many cross era matchups.

I'd love to see MJ try to mark him and wear him down with physicality, only to run into Bogut screens or get beaten on back cuts. Curry would frustrate the sh*t out of him, much more so than someone like Kobe or Bron who would just try to beat MJ one-on-one in an isolation situation.

Agreed which is why I'd rather see this honestly than prime Kobe or Bron vs MJ. Curry embarrasses people, no matter how good of a defender they are, and I'd bet he would get some great highlights on MJ.

it depends on what era they play in. jordans era........could be a long day for curry. currys era.....Jordan might need a few breaks to edge out the win

Actually i think MJ would do good on Curry. MJ was a better man to man defender than Pippen and Harper. If he wanted to stick to a guy, he'd do it and suffocate them in stretches.

Yeah but it isn't like Curry would hold onto the ball. He just needs a half a second of space to get a shot off a screen and he can make you pay.

And I'd love to see Curry try to defend MJ in any way, shape or form. Curry is definitely too accurate, too skilled with the dribble, two fast with his release for MJ to stop but what's going to happen when MJ has the ball? Mj would obviously do a better job on Curry than vice versa.

True. Hence why Jordan is the GOAT and Curry comes second.

Miller only needed a second of space to get a shot off a screen and we all know what happened when MJ decided that he would cover Miller and shut him down.

Curry's shooting situation off screens would be no different, but he would do better than Miller in other ways of scoring just due to better ball handling alone.

Penny couldn't even score when MJ decided to cover him:

Imagine if Lebron was a FAR better jumpshooter - that's MJ.

Imagine if Lebron averaged 5.2 ppg more in the playoffs and 7.2 in the Finals on better efficiency across the board (fg, ts, ORtg), while only getting 1 less assist, and having less turnovers... That's Jordan.

Any fan wishes their favorite player could average 5-7 more ppg in the playoffs on better efficiency - that was Jordan compared to Lebron...

Why is this important????..

Because I'm not even sure if Curry is better than actual Lebron, let alone this far enhanced version that averaged 5-7 more ppg on better efficiency.. :confusedshrug:

Will Curry guard Lebron in the Finals?...Otherwise, he's nowhere near MJ

Jordan's GOAT two-way performance included being the primary defender on Magic - MJ guarded him for 14 of 20 quarters, which included holding Magic to 0-0-0 with 1 TO in critical Game 3 OT, shown here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oFtj8ovhp48&t=6m04s).. (btw, Pippen missed that OT by fouling out - classic Pippen - MIA in the critical moments of the series).

The 1991 matchup pitted the regular season MVP winner (MJ) vs. the runner-up (Magic), and both guys were top 5 all-time players - so it was one of the best matchups ever.. But MJ dominated the matchup - here are their overall stats for the series:

JORDAN 1991 FINALS:. 33/7/11 on 56%
MAGIC.. 1991 FINALS:. 19/7/13 on 43%

Obviously, MJ's defensive impact dwarfs Curry's - this is especially true against teams that have great perimeter players, since MJ can guard guys like Magic, Lebron, or Drexler, while Curry can only defend guys like Shumpert, Delly, etc.

There's a reason Curry didn't win FMVP in last year's Finals - he only did half the job, while Iggy did the other half (defense).

Otoh, MJ performed Iggy's duties on defense by guarding Magic/Drexler, while still having a goat offensive impact - Jordan's 2-way ability is why he has 6 FMVP's, compared to Curry's 0.

DEFENSIVE ASSIGNMENTS BY QUARTER, 1991 FINALS:

Pippen guarded Magic for:

GAME 1: none
GAME 2: 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters
GAME 3: 2nd and 3rd quarters
GAME 4: the last 4 minutes of 4th quarter
GAME 5: none

Here's all 5 games in their entirety:

Game 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ncUC9fSFdik
Game 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3S6AWPT6fG0
Game 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cueGQChyFuU
Game 4: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PO0LJVxaqD0
Game 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCNFQSBUe5c

Overall, MJ guarded Magic for 14 of 20 quarters (70%), compared to only 6 of 20 for Pippen (30%).

MJ vs Steph Curry? Would Curry ever guard him? :whatever:
