View Full Version : Prime Kobe vs '16 LeBron

Prime Kobe - 27/5/5 on 56% TS
Current LeBron - 25/7/7 on 58% TS
Kobe literally choked away a series win in '06 at his PEAK. Choked away Finals in '04 and '08 as well. Not to mention the FACT that he played on par with Austin Croshere (not his prime, but the scrub still got carried to a ring).
So, who you got? 12be or Le3.

Le3, and it's not even close. Just imagine how many points Bron Bron would average if he was a selfish prick who took just as many shots as Kobe? :biggums:
The truth is this thread isn't fair to Kobe though. He should be compared to his peers in the top 15-25 range, not top 3 players like Lebron.

I like how OP says the Kobe's peak was in 06 and then post his regular season stats from 09. :oldlol: :oldlol:
prime Kobe = 32/6/5 on 58% TS
oh and by the way Lebron is shooting 57.3% TS this year, not sure how you got 58%.
so 32/6/5 on 58% TS vs 25/7/7 on 57% TS if you want to be accurate, but this is just a troll thread. Lately, you've been more obsessed with Kobe than usual.

so you typing out a year and claiming it was Kobe's prime year makes it fact?
gotcha
Kobe was 30 and change in 2009, Lebron is 31 this year. You're basically just comparing them at the same age..

Bran isn't even better at 30/31 as Kobe was at 34.
Even irrelevant box score numbers back that.

At age 34, Kobe had already taken a few trips to Germany to have illegal doping done. That's why his body started breaking down shortly after and has been irrelevant since.

31 year old LeBron is actually better than peak Kobe. Dude couldn't lead a team of scrubs past one of the worst defensive teams. That was the 1st round, BTW. Kinda reminds me of Wilt.

So lebron disappeared 7/8 times against championship caliber teams while kobe constantly destroy the spurs and you wanna compare the 2 .lol
And how can you be the best if youre being disrespected by giving 5 ft to shoot? Only a dumbass can say that.

Didn't play within the flow of the offense.
Kobe would have been better off playing within the offense and averaging less points.

That's actually what he did all series. His FGA per game was 27 in the regular season and against the suns he only had one game where he attempted 27+ FGA.
Lakers were working it inside all series and Kobe was playing a lot differently than he had all season (style wise) and you know what it almost worked.

3.7 Assists , 0.3 Offensive Boards and 5 turnovers .. Tht's why he wasn't succesful in his 2006 and 2007 . He focused the effective game ( feed teammates , way more focus on defence and didn't push his selections ) with his 2008 season to 2010 .

2015 Lebron > Peak Kobe > 2016 Lebron
Lebron can change this with a good post-season though. Really the only struggling part of Lebron's game this year has been his shot...which is not a result of old age and he may get it back any time now. His driving and fast break ability are still there (and of course his elite passing vision which is a mental ability and thus should always be with him...until his brain starts declining in his 70's lol)

This is pretty much it.
Man wonder why it bothers kobe fans so much for him to be seen as a lesser player than a likely top 5 all time. There's no shame in being a worse player than lebron. More than 95% of players ever are worse than lebron.......just enjoy kobes successes and quit hating.:applause:

What the heck is this?
Choked away 08 Finals against a Celtics team with one of the toughest defences in recent history? And came back and beat them in 2010. It's not like Lebron beat that 08 Celtics team either. And Lebron choked hard in a few Finals now.
Croshere? Dont you forget that lebron makes role players into FMVP players?
Your comparison and analysis is terrible.

Iggy was always a legit All-Defensive team player. Dude won the FMVP because he was able to hold LeBron to 36% shooting and LeBron still finished with 36/13/9/1/1 on 40%. Numbers which Chuckbe never even sniffed. This was with a team which was significantly much worse than any of Kobe's.
Kawhi is a DOPY winner and an MVP/DPOY candidate now. You do realize that LeBron averaged 28/8/4/2/1 on 68% TS, right?

Peak Kobe > 2016 LeBron
LeBron from 2012-2014ish > Peak Kobe ≥ 2015 LeBron
LeBron has the better prime and peak, although Kobe has objectively a GREATER or equal career due to his individual longevity feats and titles (4 of which he played like a superstar and franchise caliber player).
