Hating on Tim Duncan is never gonna stick. Ever. He may be the only untouchable athlete in sports. Nobody ever hated on Tim and brought him or the perception of him down in any way.
Tim Duncan hate is dust in the wind.

The media did the same in 2003 with Robinson. Duncan had to answer questions about him 24/7.
If the Spurs stars were more charismatic then maybe there would be less interest in their senior citizens.

Duncan being a non-factor on a stacked team is nothing new :confusedshrug:

He looked intimidating sitting there and that threw Curry's shot off. Timmay anchoring the D, even on the bench.

Duncan is definitely overrated. He is basically powerless without Ginobli.

No shit. With a D that big he needs to anchor it.

Tim Duncan is winning championships at age 40. Meanwhile, you're half is age and you're sitting in your basement doing nothing.

You makes it sound like this year has been the norm. You realize longevity is more than just what a player is doing in one year...right?
Last year Duncan was playing like 30 minutes a game and played in like 75 games....and was producing 14/9/3 while playing elite defense.
He then stepped up his game in the playoffs at 18/11/3...
And he did that all at age 38.
Yes, he's regressed this year both in impact and role. It's by design for the Spurs...he has taken a lesser role to allow LMA to flourish as the big.
Duncan is still, however, an elite defensive player and a solid rotation player for one of the best teams of all time.
I'd say his longevity is just fine...considering it's on the short list for best ever.

He could have said no. He could have kicked up a stink. He could still be trying to score 25ppg for ego resons. Like a certain contemporary who is at the end of his career. But Duncan wants the team to win over him getting 20 shots a game.

Kobe stans still can't let this go? His historically great longevity isn't based on what he's doing this season alone. He's still been a high impact player on championship caliber teams up until and through last season.
Just because he's being limited and has finally really fallen off to some extent (he is still a pretty high impact defensive player) this season doesn't all of a sudden mean his longevity is overrated.

Lol. Kobe been sitting and doing nothing the last two years. Playing about 1/2 this season so far. According to kobestans, he didn't get a fair shake his first 3 seasons because of PT, so lets turn that into 1 season. Kobe is celebrated for his longevity, yet his amount of games played doesn't match his years played and also given the fact his production has been shit for years.
Duncan staying steady and relevant since he stepped into the league and let the most athletic center of the modern generation know "I'm the captain now."
Please.

Last time Timmy sat in an important game, Ray Allen bailed the Heat out and the Spurs lost the championship.
