Stephen Curry's name is spelled as "Steven", but is pronounced "Stephan" for some reason.

When I first read Kawhi Leonard's name, I had no idea how to pronounce it. I figured it was "Kaw-Hee"

Way back in the day, when I first heard about Shaquille O'Neal at LSU, I read his name as "Shack-Will"

And when I first heard of Kobe Bryant, I thought the E was silent. Cobe Bryant.

Has this ever happened to you?

PS - In every case above, I like my rendition better. :D

Ste-Fahn and Ste-Fin, are different names. It's pronounced Ste-Fin.

I believe it's discretionary whether its pronounced as Steven or Stephen.

Nevertheless, Giannis Anteto!#$@##$!$SGFDFgkuompo's last name still ****s me up, so I just get the beginning and end right and just throw in some bullshit in the middle.
