Cancer almost never really goes away. Once you have it. It's going to be there. Even when you're in remission it's kind of a reminder that mortality is a ticking time bomb for everyone; even for those without cancer.

Honestly, he may not be trolling.
A girl I went to high school with was diagnosed with Leukemia a few years back. She went through all the treatments and finally got it into remission and started to re-live her life. One day it randomly came back with a vengeance and she ended up passing away not long after. Very, very sad.
Hopefully Sags will get through this, but it's a very worrying situation.

Sager has AML. Thats the worst leukemia a middle aged adult can possibly get and the chemotherapy is unfortunately as toxic as the actual malignancy.
