:facepalm Katt Williams said his next target is Chris Rock. He's doing a show in New York this weekend, that apparently will be all about Chris Rock. Said he's gonna end Chris Rock's career.

Katt Williams Says Chris Rock Is A Coon Who Doesn't Like Black Women, Promises To End His Career (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrgPnGrAJx8)
Go to 7:15, gets interesting. After talking about Rock, he starts babbling about how his truth is the truth and other stuff.
I really hope Chris Rock actually responds to this fool and destroys him.

Since Kevin Hart got roided up Rock is the only black comic Williams has a fighting chance against.

The other dude did not mean different opinions; he definitely said "two truths" which is a logical fallacy. Katt called him out on it.
Katt gets people shook because he believes in Truth as something transcendental i.e. Logos. He shits all over libtard newspeak.

Those are opinions Katt bought up and that guy called him out on it.
Katt said Rock doesn't like black women
Doesn't give his brother work
Doesn't take care of his children
As far as I know all of those are not the truth. Rock divorced his wife and is now with another black woman. Tony Rock was in "Everybody Hates Chris" among other Chris Rock projects. Rock is not on child support which makes me believe he takes care of his children (or African baby, what Katt Williams called.)
I've never in my life seen a comedian who wants attention so much as Katt Williams. Here's a truth, Katt might be the saltiest comedian in the History of stand up. Kevin Hart making movies ... Katt starts random beef. Chris Rock host Oscars ... Katt starts another random beef.
Imagine Gary Shandling starting beef with Larry Miller.
Or Flip Wilson beefing with Dick Gregory.

Do you think Katt Williams could have been as successful as Kevin Hart and Chris Rock? Or is there nothing he could have done to get on their level in terms of success?
I find him funnier than both Rock and Kev though :confusedshrug:

Against Kevin Hart, sure. He had his chance. People fail to realize he was in a major Hollywood movie before Kevin Hart. While Hart did star in Paper Soldiers, it was a straight to movie release. Katt was a supporting character in Friday After Next. Both came out in 2002.
Katt, then was a supporting character in the Tracy Morgan Show on NBC for a season 03-04. Kevin Hart starred in his own series The Big House in 2004 on ABC. Both had recurring characters in Damon Wayans vehicle. Katt in My Wife and Kids and Kevin on the Showtime sketch series,"The Underground."
Soul Plane was meant to blow Kevin Hart up in 2004, the the movie bombed big time. Meanwhile Katt was starting to be known as the King of the Underground. He was one of the major players in Nick Cannon's Wild n Out. And Kevin Hart would be there occasionally.
Kevin Hart was the first tho have a stand up special though, one of those half hour Comedy Central specials in 2004. But than Katt put out like five specials between 2005-2008 either on HBO or on DVD. That was when Katt was supposed to hit that next level. But, he just never quite got there.
Meanwhile, Kevin put out a Showtime special in 2008, but it was the Shaq's All-Star Show in 09 which really got him back out after the Soul Plane slump. After that, Hart's specials were being shown in theaters. And he was staring in major Hollywood films. He left Katt in the dust around 2010.
He had no shot to ever be on Chris Rock's level. Not many comics, (black or white) will ever be on Chris Rock's level. Rock had been on TV since these guys were in middle school probably (maybe even earlier.) Rock had been in movies and done stand up on TV since the mid-80s. Been a star on SNL since 1990. Wrote and produced his own film before these two even thought about stand up in CB4 in 1993. His first special was on HBO in 1994 while he was a recurring star on In Living Color. And this was all before his breakthrough, the Emmy Award winning stand up special, Bring the Pain in 1996.

Great post!
In your opinion, how many comedians black and white would you say were/ are on Rock's level from a success standpoint? This is black and white comedians from the past and present you can think of.
Also, I've thought about trying stand up. Any advice on how to do it? I can't think of any jokes and am not that funny in general. What does it take to be successful in stand up?
EDIT: Are you ever going to make a top 50 white stand up comedians of all time? I finished reading your top 50 black stand up comedians thread; was very informative!

I'm not a stand up so I wouldn't know what it takes to be successful. But I'd say be funny. Be original, have your own style and be able to tell stories.
Comics on Chris Rock's level of success (some higher, some right around his level) have been:
Bill Cosby, Richard Pryor, George Carlin, Woody Allen, Steve Martin, Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, Carson, Jerry Seinfeld, Don Rickles, Bob Hope, Jim Carrey, Martin Lawrence, Sandler, Chappelle, Damon & Keenen Ivory Wayans, Arsenio Hall, Jay Leno, Redd Foxx, Flip Wilson, CK, Milton Berle, Jack Benny, Billy Crystal, Joan Rivers, Roseanne, Whoopie Goldberg, Jamie Foxx, David Letterman, Phyllis Diller, Chris Tucker.
Hope I did this right. Define success for me? Maybe I'll edit or whatever if I did wrong. For example, I listed Jamie Foxx here. Jamie had three stand-up specials on HBO. But he didn't become a household name until he starred in Ray, Collateral both in 2004. Those stand ups, In Living Color, Jamie Foxx Show were all between 1991-2002. While Chris Rock was doing other things, like SNL, ect. It was his standup that made his name in fame.
I guess I could come up with a top 50 white comics all-time. Not too many threads about George Burns here.

1. success in terms of fame, being a household name, and having great financial success via stand up.
2. Also, what stand up comedians black and white do you feel have very great business acumen and are business savvy?

What is a wiki historian? I read man, I have books on comics. I watch documentaries on comedy.
And, also there are plenty funny people who never made to be really successful. Ever heard of Charlie Barnett? Look him up (or in your words, Wikipedia him lol.)

Is that success specifically from stand up, or from another venture?
Bob Saget is successful, but his claim to fame was not from his stand-up. It was from Full House and America's Funniest Home Videos.
