Chandler Parsons has a torn meniscus in his right knee and will likely undergo season-ending arthroscopic surgery this week. An MRI on Monday revealed that the soreness in his lower right hamstring was being caused by the torn meniscus.

same thing happend last year.

Good news for the Blazers and Jazz.

Hopefully Parsons can come back 100% next season. Knee issues can be very nagging though.

another wasted year for dirk. same happend last year with parsons. i sill think we could have caused serious troubles to houston with healthy parsons.

no offense but who really wants the 8th seed??? Its a guaranteed sweep whether its the warriors or spurs.

If I were the rockets I would tank.....who goes from wcf to battling for the 8th seed a year later with virtually the same team??? id just let the jazz have the 8th seed and call it a season....try to ship howard off and get cousins and of course a seasoned coach.

Meniscus?? Sounds like a convenient excuse for a doc to prescribe surgery.

Stay off it til the playoffs Parsons and have your surgery afterward! Meniscus is not a serious injury. People get them shits removed and still play. This is weak.

Dude has been averaging 19/6/3 on 64% TS over the past 27 games.

Hopefully this results in a few more losses for the Mavs to improve that pick for the Celtics.

How low can mavs drop in the standings? Is lower than 7th pick impossible without a lottery fluke?

Well it obviously is.. let's go mavs lose the remaining games.

how many first rounders does boston have? is boston aiming to trade them for a big FA?

12th is somewhat realistic, but I wouldn't mind the Mavs moving up into the top 3. Due to the roster crunch, I think the pick retains value if it is used in 2017. Also, 2017 15-20 range is probably stronger than 2016 12-17

One of the worst free agent signings...just an utter disaster in every way.

Caused the Rondo trade and limited the play of Crowder...which is disgusting because Crowder ended up not only just being a better player, but a much better fit for us

I missed it with Crowder as well...didn't think he was anything of note, but clearly he just needed burn

So instead of going after players that made sense to fill needs...we went after an unproven role player. Which left a gaping hole at pg and caused the devastating Rondo trade

Thanks Parsons...you dismantled a team that took the champion Spurs to 7 games...great work you tool

and yet he will earn 16mio a year and im pretty sure that mavs will give him the max once he enters FA, because cuban and parsons are best buddies

The Crowder thing really is disgusting. And so much blame falls on Rick on that one. I love Rick, but that miss is just huge...had he developed Crowder properly, this whole mess would have been avoided.

Just beyond frustrating because it was so easy to call at the time. It was a terrible signing in the moment and now even worse looking back.

This franchise will immediately go back to being one of the worst in all of sports once Dirty retires...the average fan has no idea just how awful Cuban/Nellie Jr. have been since the end of the 03 season...

It's been a complete joke...:facepalm

well yea, because the only thing that could make this worse is if he opts out and leaves

so....maybe that will happen...as this is on track for worst case scenario

Looking how good old ass ARIZA has been for the Rockets the past two seasons, Parsons is overrated as hell. (3rd in the league in steals this season)

I really don't get the Parsons hate...? 19/6/4 on 64% TS over the last 27 games after he struggled to find his shot initially. 47% on 3's over that stretch.

Mavs shoulda been a much higher seeded team with the roster they have.

well thats the case if you just watch boxscores and not the games. he was hot from three, thats right, but most of his 2point FGA were fastbreak layups or uncontested jumpers. furthermore he collapsed in the 4th often enough, so that coach carlise didnt play him in crunch time for many games.
parsons was, despite of his hot run, the worst +/- starter of the team.

anyways

I'll admit that I've only watched like 10 Mav's games this season, but the guy is shooting 48% from 3 on near 6 attempts over the past 27 games. 41% on 4 tiers for the season.

Oh, and according to +/-, Parsons is 2nd best on the team.

yep, he got better and better. you was referring to his 27 games streak. the first 10 of them he was the worst +/- while putting up great stats and the resason why carlise didnt use him in crunch time. there was some media hype regarding this in dallas.

its just sad for parsons and the mavs. we needed three top perfromances (dirk, d-will, mejri) to barely beat the blazers at home.
