View Full Version : Seems Kobe has already been forgotten

Only 11 games left in his career, and the media hasn't given him any real coverage in about 2 months.
I've heard of stars being forgotten after they retire, but NEVER have I seen a superstar become so irrelevant while they were still playing!
Remember, according to the media hype baldbe is supposed to be the closest thing to Jordan, yet Lebron's social media activity is deemed more interesting and receives more coverage than the final games of the supposed 2nd GOAT shooting guard. :lol
If Kobe is this irrelevant now I can't imagine how much he'll be forgotten within the next 5 years. His #12 all time ranking is only going to continue to drop until he is barely in the top 30 :(

Obvious Jordan thread.

I think everyone misunderstood when ESPN said he's #12. They meant top 1 or 2.

No trolling please. I would like this thread to have serious thought provoking discussion.

Yup. The sad thing is ESPN admitted giving Kobe his 93rd ranking going into this season was only out of respect for his past accomplishments, when in reality they knew he wasn't anywhere near the top 100. :lol
Something tells me they did the same thing with his #12 ranking, as it was likely a retirement present. Pretty sure they next time they do a top 100 list Kobe will be MUCH lower.

Tim Duncan hasn't received real media attention since he was born. Does that mean he's not an all time great?

Not many players are top 3

Only 3 of them infact

Duncan has taken a step back and his team is flourishing thanks to his unselfishness.
Baldbe on the other hand is taking up half his teams cap space while being the worst player in the NBA (impact wise)
The Lakers young talent should be developing right now, but they can't cause Kobe wants to put up 20 shots a game at 35% so he can have some highlights on his lame documentary/cringeworthy retirement tour. :facepalm

because the kobe retirement hype train was contrived, shoved down our throats, and the reactions faked. nobody really cares. and the ones that do, aside from his fanboys, only cared because they were told to care. people are just ready to move on.

:applause: Excellent post. A few people cared at first, but the novelty wore off QUICK. Sad thing is he would be still be getting the love and respect he got the first few weeks if he was actually playing the game the right way.

Will be ironic when the OP is still making ten Kobe threads per week in 2017
