Durant is real, none of these puzzy tennis players who dont dare to speak truth on the women getting paid more than men.

Djokovic had to walk that back or he'd be labelled a sexist and his endorsements would have been affected. Chris Evert and Billie Jean King gave him the low-down on how it is and will be - equal pay for UNEQUAL WORK. That's what political correctness in this country has gotten us.

Imagine if women's basketball were tied (in pay) to the men's basketball game as tennis is - how unfair.

Men and Women Tennis players do not get paid the same. There are 5 tournaments out of the entire season where only the Male and Female WINNER of the Tourney receive the same amount. Otherwise, the WTA and ATP have completely different pay scales.

That said, Women's Tennis is probably the most marketable Women's sport in the World, so it shouldn't be surprising that their pay scale is closer to the Men's than probably any other sport.

As for Leonard, I think it's pretty obvious that the reigning DPOY isn't dependent on a system to be effective. Also, players should be given credit for their ability to produce within a system. The truth is, the best offensive and defensive systems actually give their players more freedom. Both the Warriors and Spurs systems, whom everyone praises so highly, are free-flowing, and for the most part, allow the players to make the decisions on the court.

kenny smith said it best

"great players don't need a system. the system is for every one else."

kawhi didn't need the spurs's system. he's been on a steady rise ever since he came into the league and went from playing off-ball to being their bailout shooter and he has answered the call which is definitive proof that he would have succeeded no matter what.

but the spurs system is for players like patty mills, boris diaw, danny green, etc. players who need guidance and know not to do too much.

A male player could play a possible 35 sets to earn the same amount that a female player could possibly earn with only 14 sets in the Grand Slam tourneys.

Now that Sharapova is out, I'd guess that most people (say on this board) would only recognize 2 women tennis players - the Williams sisters.

I didn't say it was right or wrong. It's a decision made by the Tournaments though, not the WTA or ATP. We should also note that the 4 Majors are the only tournaments where Men play 5-set matches. Otherwise, Women and Men both play 3-set matches the rest of the year.

Personally, I'd like to see 3-set matches in the Majors for Men as well (especially in the early rounds). I don't want to see a guy play defense for 5 hours until his opponent physically breaks. Winners > Unforced Errors.

Tennis isn't that popular in the States. I'd guess outside of Rafa and Roger, most Americans couldn't name more than 1 Male Tennis player either.
