The 1993-1994 Bulls without Jordan finished 55-27. They lost in the NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals (3-4) versus the Knicks. I think if Curry was on that team they would easily win the title.

Do they get the ref help that came with Jordan?

In either case, easy title

The only reason the 1994 Bulls won 55 games is because they were defending 3-peat champs.

So it's a moot point because Curry couldn't achieve the GOAT stats or defense that was needed to BECOME 3-peat champs - the Bulls wouldn't have beaten the Bad Boys or 1991 Lakers with Curry's defense or offense.

For the Bulls to win 1991 Finals with Curry, they would need Curry to get 31/7/11 while doing this:

With Curry replacing Jordan, Pippen couldn't have guarded Magic, because then Paxson has to guard Worthy..

The Lakers DESTROY the Bulls with Curry

DEFENSIVE ASSIGNMENTS BY QUARTER, 1991 FINALS:

Pippen guarded Magic for:

GAME 1: none
GAME 2: 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters
GAME 3: 2nd and 3rd quarters
GAME 4: the last 4 minutes of 4th quarter
GAME 5: none

Here's all 5 games in their entirety:

That has absolutely nothing to do with the OP. OP is talking about 1994, and you're breaking down 1991

Jordan only defended Magic for 5/20 quarters. Pippen defended him for 15/20 quarters

Pippen>Jordan

It has everything to do with it

If Curry can't achieve the scoring or defense needed for the Bulls to 3-peat, then they aren't a 55 win team in 1994.

The '94 55-27 Bulls lost a close seven game series against a 56-26 Knicks team that would lose a game seven by four points to the 58-24 Rockets in the Finals. In fact, the Bulls lost game five to NY on a HORRIFIC call. Furthermore, the Knicks outscored the Rockets in the Finals, and really outplayed them.

Then, think about this: The Bulls went 55-27 with Pippen and Grant missing a combined 22 games. CLEARLY, this was a 60+ team..withOUT Jordan.

Then, think about this: They went undefeated at home in the playoffs. Had Pippen and Grant been healthy, they likely would have won 60+ games, and had HCA in the entire post-season.

Finally... in that NY series, which ultimately was decided by a blown call...Jordan's "replacement", the legendary Pete Myers, averaged 6.6 ppg.

I'm sorry, but they likely would have won a title with even an average replacement for MJ, and not a D-Leaguer like Myers.

With a healthy Curry...probably 70+ wins, and a dominating title.

So if the Lakers win in 1991, the Bulls don't win 55 games in 1994? What?

Actually without Pippen and Grant completely destroying both the crumbling Pistons and the declining Lakers, they don't win a title in '91, either. Those two stepped up HUGE in that post-season. From that point on, Jordan was playing with rosters that were capable of winning 55+ games withOUT him. And when they lost Grant after the '94 season, Jordan wasn't even capable of winning a ring. He needed the Bulls to add another HOFer PF in Rodman, to replace a Grant who SHOULD be in the HOF, and who had a DRAMATIC IMPACT on EVERY team he played for.

That fact that Pippen even had that 95 Bulls team after losing the best player in the world and 3rd best player on the team over .500 was impressive. Everyone acts like Jordan came back and then the 95 team got it together...the Bulls had won 8 out 10 when he arrived and had been dealing with injuries all season long anyway. Scottie put up the GOAT defensive season by a perimeter player that season...how else was that team 2nd in defense? Look at that roster...he completely carried that team defensively. The two guys playing the most minutes after him were two of the worst defensive players on the team...Kukoc and Armstrong.

Whoever believes so had better stop theorizing that Jordan's teams were never upset in the playoffs. Can't have it both ways.
