Hes definitely overrated.

On an average team that has a few good players like Kobe, Odom, and Bynum, he cant get out of the first round.

Add Pau Gasol and Derek Fisher and all the sudden he's got a repeating champion.

Dont see how you can credit anyone who was losing in the first round before those guys showed up with somehow being the reason for the titles.

Dude was a winner, but definitely overrated. He never had to coach a rebuilding team at any point in his career, and now that he has to rebuild with the Knicks he's doing a horrible job

PJ was a terrible basketball player for one.

PJ stole his x's and o's from Tex Winter and then had supreme alphas in Jordan and Kobe to serve as the leader for his teams.

PJ literally didn't do anything except coin the stupid buzzword "zenmaster" as he sat back and did absolutely nothing.

Y'all niccas still don't understand just how well an outside the box thinking alpha hippie who still smokes weed in their 60's, and was the son of a preacher man (&woman) can connect with today's NBA player. Some people are never "unhip" or "out of touch", until they're in the grave.

Phil that dude.
The end.

his main skill is just getting along with everyone

but hey, that's a skill when you're in charge of a bunch of elite sportsmen living in a bubble

he's a decent coach, but wouldn't win anything without MJ or Kobe. The two GOATs.

Agreed that he's not much of a coach, but he was a good counsellor

He kept lots of egos together working for the same goal

I'm curious as to what coach Jordan, Pippen, Shaq or Kobe would have taken over Phil in the history of the game.

Watch them all say Popvich or Auerbach. Hence proving Phil's place aka nothing overrated about him as a coach.

Phil: 100% rings as the man
Kobe: 60% sidekick rings

Just to prove the Kobe/Curry family is legit...I will disagree with my boy, Jabbar. I think Phil was a great coach, especially the aspect of managing superstar egos.
