20,000 people sign petition to allow guns to be brought to the Republican National Convention. (http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/03/26/nearly-20000-support-petition-to-allow-guns-at-republican-national-convention.html)

The Choices:

1. Sure. Tens(?) of thousands of strangers being allowed to bring guns in to a wide-open areana. What could possibly go wrong?

2. Yes. I follow the TSA instagram religiously and this should lead to hours of entertainment.

3. Why not? Less Trump supporters.

4. Why not? Less Cruz supporters.

5. RMWG is a terrible mod I would shoot his dog if he had one. Do you have a dog that I can shoot, RMWG?

Not sure how these conventions work but there shouldnt be guns near the presidential candidates, but outside of that sure have your guns.

Agreed.

People are around guns every day whether they know it or not, and this is no different... except there being a presidential candidate there.

Different guns have different ranges but if you are allowing anyone with the legal right to own a gun to bring one into the arena I don't see how you keep the candidates safely out of gun range without having rifles banned and then setting up a periphery that guns aren't allowed in and then you also have to set up a gun ban area for the candidates and other dignitaries to walk up to the main stage. The candidates would also be unable to mingle with the crowd. Lots of problems from a safety perspective. But if the republicans really want this? That's their problem.

I am curious as to how their candidates feel about the issue.

Yeah, if the candidates are in the open guns should be banned.

Secret service already said they won't allow it and there is nothing RNC could do about that even if that wanted

I don't see an issue with it. Believe it or not, I've been in rooms where there were HUNDREDS of guns, and nobody got shot.

I understand from a safety standpoint though. Never know when some fat American flag stomping liberal may rush the stage to try and make a statement.

Guns don't cause murderous rampages. They just make them easier. Which is why whether they admit it or not of course the RNC doesn't want their convention to permit guns. If they really wanted to they easily could have found a venue that permitted guns.

Of course. There should be a shit ton of guns there. Open and concealed. Hopefully some assault rifles. It's a huge part of their platform. Why wouldn't they be allowed at the convention?

But according to righties, it is safer to have all those good guys with guns there. The real danger is if they don't have guns, because then a bad guy with a gun will have no problem shooting people.

Open carry in an urban environment is an idiotic idea. All it does is scare soccer moms and make themselves a target to criminals while hurting our concealed weapon freedom.

All it takes is one Bernie supporter with his uzi to take out Trump.

CC permits aren't so much about preventing crime as it is stopping it once it's begun.
