He definitely is a high-IQ defender, but he has too many physical limitations to be an elite one; for example, he's occluded too easily whenever he encounters a hard screen and doesn't recover well from it.

Good to see recognition that he's not the defensive liability that many detractors repute him to be, but coach Nick is discrediting the video by overexaggerating him as an "elite" defender.

I still can't tell if you a Warrior fan or not. You have Curry on your avatar, but an asterik I'm assuming for the PG injuries of last year's playoffs. So what is it? :confusedshrug:

Naero, he's gotten a lot better at recovering from screens I'd say, esp this year. I have a feeling that he doesn't like the fact that Klay sometimes vs 4-5 PGs takes his position to guard them. It makes sense when he's in foul trouble, but for some players it just seems like a way to relieve Curry of said duties. I don't think he will ever be an elite defender, but I don't think he needs to either.

If a guy rests on defense , he is plan and simple a weak defender.
If he blows by guys on offense, than he has the balls and guns to do it on defense , but he is a weak a$$ all around baller(.)

He doesn't rest on defense and showing one example of him getting exposed last season doesn't mean much. Curry this year has been bad this year in 4 games this season. One of which Lillard scored 30 on him in the first 3 quarters and then hit 21 points in 7 minutes in the 4th when Curry wasn't playing. He's gotten progressively better the last two years

The only game he was legitimately awful was vs Wall this year.
