Has any all time great ever outplayed The Almighty in a playoffs series?

Forgot about that one. That was for like the first three games though. Although Dirk was never great series. But Tmac guarded him better than anyone I have ever seen (Having Yao for help defense didn't hurt either though).

Dirk was probably the first big man to establish a legit mid range jumper that was equal to a DUNK.

Watching Grif- shows that Grif watched vids to see how best to attack Dirk on defense.
That is a super human defensive play by Grif , few others can stop Dirk.

Um, Wade outplayed him in 2011 too. Dirk got the big and little trophy (with a big assist from LeBron), but Wade (26/7/5/55%) was the best player in that series.

And in 2006, Wade outplayed him with or without foul calls. Take away ALL of his FTs in that series and he still averaged 23 ppg (he was 12/16 per game on FTs, accounting for his 35 ppg series average).
