Do the Muslims here on ISH pray in public or at work? If so, do you think that it is inconsiderate of those who don't share your beliefs?

How would it be inconsiderate for someone to pray in front of you?

That blows my mind.

Yeah. The fact that most of these terrorists are yelling "Allah akhbar" while they are blowing people up has nothing to do with people's discomfort. If most folks were honest, they don't even want to see a Muslim on their flight.

In general yeah, praying loudly and yelling your prayers anywhere but at a religious facility is very rude and inconsiderate. You can pray in silence or at most whisper like any normal, mentally healthy person would.

However, this is Etihad. They literally have integrated Islamic prayers for take off and landing. Systems to accommodate Muslim prayer and observance are built into the plane. Seems petty to travel by a very specifically Muslim airline and then complain about something like this.

Is anyone else sick of this religion? Islam is quickly surpassing the annoyingness of Christianity and heading in to Jehovah's Witness/Scientology/Mormonism territory.

If they want to keep being considered be on the same level as the other top tier religions, they need to cut the annoying shit out.

This shrill wailing is the most annoying type of prayer I have ever heard-and I've sat through High Holy Days services for 3+ hours before.

This sounds fair enough. The airline is from a Muslim country where it is customary to pray on the plane and the plane has a segregated area to accommodate people that want to pray. I think Westerners that go to Muslim countries should respect the local culture and traditions.

I also believe the opposite is true but that would make me a racist (ie Muslims in Western countries should respect the local culture.)

Youre right, but thats what happens when a small but notable portion of a group screws it up for the rest. Sikhs got screwed.

Its the same way with black people. Most black guys I know or play ball with are cool dudes that are not thuggish at all. But if I'm passing by a group of black dudes being loud and shit at night, I'll have my guard up very high.

Nope. Lots of good Muslims out there. There are lots of good pitbulls out there too, but I wouldn't want to be locked up with one I didn't know in a vehicle.

Come to think of it I wouldn't be comfortable with a guy raising his voice, and yelling "Praise Jesus" either.

When I was in college there was a muslim dude that used to pray outside..he didn't hide it. We pranked him once. While he was praying we sneaked up and took his book bag and little hat. We threw his sh#t in the field, I think he even had porn in his bag.

Lmfao.

Why is that rude or even inconsiderate? Could you explain? Do you know how to explain? Do you even know what your talking about? Do you know what the words you are using mean? Apparently not...

I agree.

I don't think muslims scream or are loud when they pray. The ones I've seen were quiet and respectable
