There's no way he was taking 4 years 50 million. Don't forget this was Harden's first big contract opportunity. You HAVE TO cash in on that first contract, because you never know what's gonna happen.

And he was coming off a Finals experience with two other young, great players. At that point he's probably thinking about winning multiple titles with those guys... then the front office low-balls him and trades him. That's worth a tear or two.

Not only that, he was arguably the 2nd best player in the first 3 rounds.
