Only Kevin Willis (21), Robert Parish (21), KG (21st currently), KAJ (20) and Kobe (20th currently) have played at least 20 seasons.

During their 20th or higher season the highest each player scored was 24 for Kareem (this occurred in the playoffs, highest regular season game was 21), 12 for Willis, 18 for KG, 16 for Parish, and 60 for Kobe.

The list looks like this:

Kobe - 60
Kobe - 38
Kobe - 35
Kobe - 34
Kobe - 31
Kobe - 31
Kobe - 28
Kobe - 28
Kobe - 27
Kobe - 26
Kobe - 25
Kobe - 25
Kobe - 25
KAJ - 24 (Playoffs)
Kobe - 24
Kobe - 23
KAJ - 22 (Playoffs)
Kobe - 22
Kobe - 22
Kobe - 22
KAJ - 21
KAJ - 21
Kobe - 21
Kobe - 21
Kobe - 20

Those are all the 20 point games by a 20th+ season player.

I'm pretty sure Kareem, Willis, and Parrish were all 40+ years old in their 20th+ season. Not to diminish Kobe, it's still impressive with that much mileage, but it's not surprising he owns most of those highest scoring games since he's the youngest guy on that list.

Kareem was a FMVP at 37 (actually he turned 38 before the Finals), and had a game of 40 against Hakeem that same season. At age 38 (nearly 39), he had a game of 40 against Ewing, and games of 43 and 46 against Hakeem. And at age 39 (actually 40), he had a Finals clinching game of 32.

So Kobe has the 21st highest score ever for a 37 year old, but on chitty efficiency... sounds about right :lol

Everyone on that list had 15 or less NBA seasons when they were 37 years old, they played far less NBA basketball than Kobe did. Same age does not equal same milage on the body.

Also, Kobe is the only one who had a coach who gave him a green light at the detriment of the team.

Kobe played 48,477 minutes over his career in the RS and 8,641 in the PO's. KAJ played 51,002 minutes by the end of his 17th season and 8,871 minutes in the PO's. He did this and also played in college for 4 years. 50,543 minutes in the RS and 7,907 in the PO's for Malone. Malone spent significant amount of time in college as well.

Yea...that looked wrong to me as well. Turns out Kobe has 8(nearly 9) seasons of 2500 or less minutes. Kareem was 39 in his FIRST season like that.

Kobe has missed a lot more time and been around role players minutes a lot more than it seems people notice. Kobe played games at 18...but considering hes getting spot duty as a 10th man I dont know how we compare it to a real season by the likes of Kareem who was playing 43 minutes a game as a rookie....after leading back to back to back NCAA champions.

Lot of these guys had played just as much basketballl or more by this point in their careers. Kobe has 2 seasons off the bench, 2 lockout shortened years, and 2 years missed to injury while playing low minutes this year.

Kareem had more miles on him than Kobe by quite a bit when he was still giving great defenders 40+.

Has Kareem ever tore his Achilles like Kobe? Kobe would have been better off not having that injury but getting more mileage in 2013-14 and 2014-15 compared to barely playing in both those seasons and tearing the Achilles.

27.3 ppg on 46.3%, Achilles injury

13.8 ppg on 42.5%
22.3 ppg on 37.5%!
16.9 ppg on 35.6%!!

18.6 ppg on 36.6% the last 3 seasons

You think extra mileage would have limited Kobe's game like that? He wasn't showing too much sign of decline (averaged 25+ ppg the past 3 seasons before 2012-13). Kareem had mileage and age slow him down which is much better than season ending injuries and age.

Just haters talking out of their ass.

Kareem didn't have the devastating injury and he wasn't a damn 6'5 shooting guard.

And played in the 70's where half his competition were coming down off cocaine and not trying on defense

His one Oscar Chip was pretty good though...the Big Empty didn't win shit in his career and was pretty old and not doing shit by the time he won with Kareem. But yeah most of KAJ's Magic chips are pretty compromised :oldlol:

I'd consider it note worthy , but considering no other Laker can score , and relying on a 37 year old to banner wag his finger at the league , no one is paying attention to him other than waving good bye.

That's because he didn't go to Germany (multiple times) to have illegal doping done.

Kareem's two 40+ points against Hakeem in the same season is impressive . Also ,
Kareem was still their leader at 86 . LA eliminated by Rox when Hakeem outplayed Kareem same year .

1971 finals

Kareem:
27/18/3 on 60/76

Oscar:
23/5/9 on 52/81

Clinching game:

Kareem:
27/12/7

Oscar:
30/3/9

In Robertson's last season, he helped lead Milwaukee to a league-best 59–23 record and helped them to reach the 1974 NBA Finals. As a testament to Robertson's importance to the Bucks, in the season following his retirement the Bucks fell to last place in their division with a 38–44 record in spite of the continued presence of Abdul-Jabbar.

From best record in the league and making the finals to a below .500 record and missing the playoffs just from losing a player that was 'old and not doing shit.'

:oldlol:

I have Kareem at #5 all-time. You can argue he was more talented than all four of the guys ahead of him, but you certainly can't say that any of Magic, Russell, Duncan, or Jordan missed the playoffs for two consecutive years at the ages of 27 and 28.

Comparing Kareems 20 years to Kobe's...that's hilarious. Kareem never played less than 40 mins until he was 29 in his 8th season...Kobe has only ever played over 40mpg five times during his entire career. Then you think bringing up points means something? I suppose that means a whole lot if Kobe chucking the Lakers to their worst record ever is what you wanted. Kareem actually contributed to WINNING in his 20th season.

The one has 32-12-5 , %55 TS and with anchoring the defence . And another one has 12-4-8 , %47 TS and with ZERO defence .

So , i'm gonna go with that bs logic ; Duncan carried by Admiral,Parker and Gino all the time.

Pathetic .
