You probably heard about what happened? Quick breakdown, it's copied from AFtonbladet so it is in Swedish.

But I thought Scandinavian nations were crime-less utopias? :confusedshrug:

Yes, that was the Scandinavia my father grew up in, the scandinavia my grandfather helped build. I am as dissapointed and sad about this as you could imagine.

Time to get off your high horses talking down to America. You don't see our American presidents involved in this shameful Panama scandal.

If one of your political leaders was involved in this, it is proof you come from a second tier nation state.

Neither is Sweden, Norway, Finland or Denmakrs Prime minister. Our banks, and other elected officals though. Also a lot of rich people.

Iceland PM is though.

Might as well be though.

This is a tragedy. Will the reputation of Scandinavia ever recover from this? :confusedshrug:

I don't know, hopefully. The greedy capitalist that took over scandinavia in the middle of last decade has been like leeches totally ruining what once was looked as the Nordic model and was an example to follow everywhere in the world.

It's almost as if the Nordic model is unsustainable long term due to the inability to account for the greed of human nature? :confusedshrug:

That is a valid point, but I just think it is a case of everything changes. Everything goes in the opposite.

We see that in America today where it is going in the opposite direction, in Russia and China the same way to a lesser degree.

People always want change.

US was a hard core right country and any talk about universal healthcare was laughed at, people would probably have called you a commie just 2 decades ago. Now it is going more and more into the european direction.

China, former commies, and some would still call them that but they are closer to being capitalists now than commies.

It just a matter of nothing really being sustainable.

Actually, there is a huge movement of people against replicating the European model. We have watched how it turned out for you guys the past decade and we'd be foolish to want to mimic the Scandinavian blueprint of unsustainability and eventual collapse.

I am not saying mimicing the scandinavian model. Rather that US is moving closer and closer to socialism. Even though US is still very right on the politcal spectrum each year they are moving more left.

This is not true. Leftism in the West is just moving closer towards totalitarianism. That is why you are under the impression that America is becoming socialist.

Though the Democratic establishment is doing its best to create a European style totalitarian state, complete with censorship of free press and free speech, half of Americans are against it.
