View Full Version : Going to the finals in the east is NOT an accomplishment...

Especially considering that Bran colludes to form super teams to get there.

STOP the BS by saying it's impressive to get to the finals in THAT conference with THOSE super teams.

Anyone with a high basketball IQ laughs at the east and KNOWS for a FACT that it's the weakest conference in NBA history, possibly. And it doesn't help that Bran REFUSES to stop leaving teams and colluding with SUPERSTARS.

It's never been an accomplishment.

It only "became an accomplishment" after LeBron started racking up finals losses so his Stans had to re-write the rules to make it so that "just making the finals" is something to hang your legacy on.

But I don't remember Iverson, Kidd (did it TWICE), Dwight Howard, etc getting this kind of praise for making it to the Finals with mediocre supporting casts.

I guess that means Kobe has zero rings considering you said they were accomplished against mediocre supporting competition?

And by that logic Shaq has 0 rings as well, and LeBron has -5 rings (since he plays way more Leastern Conference teams on his way to the Finals)

Except that Shaq showed up against the alleged Leastern conference teams in the Finals , where Kobe did not.

LeBron won B2B against the best teams the NBA had to offer......Kobe won B2B against the 1st best Least team....which would the 9th best team in the league by your logic.

So Shaq showed up against inferior competition is what you're saying...?

While Kobe dominated against the superior competition (Spurs, Kings, etc.)

Glad to see you're starting to come around.

There's not a team other than the Cavs that can win the east.

The West in the '80's was arguably just as bad, and Magic's Lakers were probably even more stacked than any of LeBron's teams

Magic didn't leave his own team twice to stack it.

And hell NO they weren't more stacked...relative to the era and the competition at the time, Bran's had the most stacked teams in NBA history.

Bran plays with FRANCHISE players ONLY.

I don't wanna hear this.

When/if the Thunder or Clippers lose before the finals nobody will factor the competition argument in for why they haven't won, it's just an "excuse". F*ck that.

The Cavs are the favorite but they're by no means a lock to win the east. If they play up to their potential then yes, they'll reach the finals, but I don't think it will be a cakewalk.

As for the significance of getting to the finals, winning 3 straight playoff series is difficult, regardless of conference strength. Even the big 3 Heat were tested on multiple occasions, which somehow always gets overlooked. In both of their championship seasons they were pushed to 7 games in the ECF. In 2011 they had to beat the Celtics and the top seed 60+ win Bulls. Point is, getting to the finals is NEVER easy.
