It's honestly amazing how he has gotten zero publicity over what he's done this year, but let's break it down shall we?
1. Leads all players in defensive win shares

2. Leads the second best defense in the league. This is a team that has korver and teague in their starting lineup, but he still has been able to anchor them and turn them into an elite defensive unit.
3. Leads his team in both steals and blocks, and is also the only dpoty candidate to be in the top 15 in the league in both categories.
4. Constantly forced to and yet perfectly capable of defending ALL five positions on the court with no slippage in his defensive prowess. Again, the only candidate that can do so.
5. And to top it off? He's doing it all as the team's primary offensive target, he can never take a possession off.
Paul Millsap should be defensive player of the year.
