He was a system player that thrived in Spo's offensive and defensive systems, IMO. No more trap defenses to bail him out, nor will he have guys with great fortitude that will hit pressured shots anymore.

He has the most talent out of anybody in the league surrounding him, but he can't do sh*t with it. All hype.

Yes!

Wouldn't be surprised if he won a few more Christmas Day's and All-Star's MVPs

With or without MVP he outplayed Curry in last year's finals, still the best in the league.

This isn't even funny any more. JohnMax is the biggest joke of a poster I've ever seen.

Which is a shame. Not, because Lebron has 4. He could've even had 5 by now, but because Shaq should have 3 imo and also Dirk could have a second. Kobe's problem was the team he played for at his peak.

Overall had Kobe had a better team though he would have cut into Dirk's NBA window. Skillwise those guys should have 6 MVPs between them.

I doubt it. Colluding hurts his case, declining hurts his case, and other players surpassing him definitely hurts his case. The stars would really have to align for him to get another.

Not really. Good try though.

Not if Curry keeps having seasons like this. He would be in contention this season for MVP, but Curry is by far and away the MVP leader and he should win it. LeBron probably has 2-3 seasons left in him to put up the numbers he's putting up right now and he'll probably be in the top 5 contention between now and then.

I don't think he'll win anymore MVPs. His best years are behind him and right now he's at the end of his prime.

Nah, the MVP is generally a young man's award. To win the MVP you have to go hard for the entire regular season, and Lebron has too much mileage for that. He's at the stage of his career where the playoffs are all that really matter.

Nope. His prime is ending and his only concern should be to get Cleveland a tittle. That should be his only priority.

I said this when KD won his MVP a couple of years ago and people scoffed, especially the Bran stans. I also said that I wouldn't be surprised if LBJ ends up with "only" two titles and I was blasted for that too...

I guess those MVPs in Cleveland was due Brown's system instead?

Ok, now i know you are just trolling..... and the whatever he actually has around him there atm is not much more sh*t he (or anybody in NBA history) could do with than he already is considering competition (Warriors specificially), which is best record in East / Conference Finals / Finals Appearance / which ends up with being runner-up both in mvp & championship... the only thing stopping him is Warriors, now that team deserves your bolded comment... THAT is stacked, GOAT level stacked considering both ends of the floor....

As far as the thread/question goes. Why? He is 3rd in most MVPs in NBA history lol... no but considering the MVP is pretty much "Best player on the best team" its possible, same goes with Championship, if his team gets a bit better/better reinforcements while Warriors get a bit worse/worse reinforcements (or perhaps get out of luck and finally suffer some injuries or something)... again the only thing stopping him/Cavs is Warriors... both in MVP & Championship department... Warriors is just way to much, Curry underperforms and that immediately gets canceled out thanks to Dray n Klay & Co. (on both ends) to the point where even a 3rd/4th fiddle can end up winning fmvp with Curry not having a single vote...

He'd better hope he can get a ring and FMVP. He's not gonna get another MVP, I don't think, unless he totally redefines himself as a player. If he either A. Turns into a super wet shooter or B. Turns himself into a beast PF... he might get it just due to hype. But it's gonna be tough for him to win an MVP in his current form. He set a pretty high standard for himself and the NBA is better now. Curry is gonna win a few MVPs.

Kinda sucks for Bron cuz if Curry wins as many MVPs ( or even like 2 or 3 ) as Bron, that's gonna make Bron's MVPs look less valuable.

How?

ILLsmak
04-09-2016, 05:27 PM
How?

Cuz when someone does something that people "don't do" like winning 4/5 MVPs... and then one of their peers comes along and does the same thing, it devalues it a lot more than it happening 10-20 years down the road.

Just like if after Curry peaked another player came along and for 3 or 4 years straight, broke his 3 point record. It would make people think less of what Curry did.

As a Bron fan, I dont think so

This year will be curry. Next year will probably be Curry/Kawhi/KAT. When Bron's athletism declines, it will go down hill fast. Thats when Russell will take over

I disagree completely. Russell won 4 MVP's in 5 years, then Wilt won 3 in a row, that didn't affect Russell's standing. Same thing with Bird, he won 3 MVP's in a row, then Magic won 3 in 4 years, and that didn't affect his standing either

Yea, I mean, I know... but otoh, those guys were top 5 all time players (to me.) Is Curry really that good? Is he gonna be top 10 when it's all over? It'll be tough. Who is he pushing out? You aren't one of those dudes who thinks Bron is top 3 all time currently, are you?

Russell won rangz. Magic won rangz. Bron has been underwhelming on them. His main argument is 4/5 mvps and $tats. That alone has been enough to put him over other, bigger winners... like Kobe, in most people's minds.

Fair enough, tho, if you disagree.
