@haralabob @NBASavant Any idea how many miles the Bulls traveled in their 72 win season? Would be fun to compare the two.
Haralabos Voulgaris @haralabob 10h10 hours ago
@jakemason00 already answered 38k miles.

So?
Warriors had a much more difficult challenge, especially considering the current west is a bloodbath.

The 90s were CBA compared to now, Warriors would sweep the 96 Bulls

mind boggling stat, I never really thought about it because U just assume all American teams have to travel a lot. In rugby its a known fact that teams who travel more simply win less so for the warriors to do this is testament to their superiority over the bulls.
Lol did U fellas see the meltdown in the game thread? Spurs fans saying that parker is better than curry just LMAO people are shook

They didn't travel any more frequently than anyone else, and it's not like they were bicycling across the country. There's this thing call air travel that gets you to your destination quickly and effortlessly.

No I actually think just about everything in the NBA is better these days, so that's a fail.
But if you weren't born in 1996, you probably hadn't flown in 1996.
NBA players travel in extreme luxury these days.
I don't think it overly effects performance.

Yeah the 95-96 Bulls were traveling via coach with other passengers when they were playing games in different cities.......:facepalm

No, the English mile has been 1760 yards for many years prior to 1990.
However the comfort level at which a human travels a mile has changed significantly in recent history.

If you don't think that travel conditions and recovery techniques haven't advanced since 1996 you are coming from way back.
The 1996 Bulls are a top 5 team ever, and if the 2016 Warriors win the title they will be too.
Don't discredit an elite team for travel time 20 years ago.

Phil Jackson once said it is too difficult for a West Coast team to match or break the 72 win record because of all the traveling, the Warriors this season traveled more than any other team in the NBA. Pretty insane.

also fewer back to backs
3games in 4 nights
and 4 games in 5 nights
and 5 games in 7 nights
Also Gstate probably travels the most every season. Would like to see how different the modern Bulls traveled from the 96 Bulls

Did the 96 Bullls or 16 GSW have their own jet? I don't think they do, so that means they both just fly first class or rent out a run of the mill commercial jet for the team/staff.... the only difference between "comfort" then and now is the entertainment technology... jets in the 90's and jets today are still pretty much a technology (in terms of speed, engines, etc) from the 1960's. Only the electronics have changed a lot.
