California is the only state where this goes on with large numbers of people. Texas has 3 teams and you didn't see much of it there. :confusedshrug:

Fudge I have to say that you are a top 1 poster on this board and I agree. I think the irony in all of this is that Curry is making Kobe irrelevant as we speak.

I think it has 3 reasons:
1. The Lakers suck, and will continue to suck for several years to come.
2. Golden State = California, so Lakers fans feel comfortable.
3. The Warriors made Lebron 2/6 in NBA finals, and possibly 2/7 after this year.

But anyway, its perfectly reasonable for fans to stan other teams if their own teams aint in playoffs. When the Nets dont make playoffs, I root for another team too.

they aren't laker fans, they're kobe stans, a big difference. Gives a bad name to all the real laker fans who stick with the franchise through thick and thin. Kobe stans have no shame.

Of course nope, I root for a title contender team if my Nets aint in playoffs, which means it will never be the Knicks.

Your reasoning behind #2 is the name of the state. Knicks are New York. So it should follow suit that you could root for them if they were in the playoffs, and Nets weren't.

Unless of course your reasonings are all bullshit, which they are.

Well its almost incomprehensible how stupid and blind you are. First of all, New York Knicks could mean New York State, but a more consensus meaning is New York City. Second, I live in New Jersey, not New York, why should I root for a team just because its in New York? Last and most importantly, when did I say point #2 alone is enough to justify Lakers fans rooting for Warriors? I listed all three reasons and they must be combined to prove its validity. In fact, a lot of this do have something to do with point #3, that Warriors took down Lebron and made him 2/6 in NBA finals.

The answer is in the name. I will make this simple for you.

The Golden State (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California) Warriors.

No.

Houston Rockets
Dallas Mavericks
San Antonio Spurs

Curry is the Anti Lebron.

The Warriors are the Anti Cavaliers/Miami.

Team built for TEAM SUCCESS as opposed to team built for INDIVIDUAL SUCCESS.

Cavaliers/Heat are built for Lebron racking up assists/snatching rebounds over soft PFs (see Love/Bosh)

The Warriors/Spurs are built for optimal team success and fosters a basketball culture where you NEVER KNOW where the points are going to come from.

They used to be SF Warriors, they became GS when they moved to Oakland, but didn't want the association with that city. It's pure marketing.

Because their idol stinks, isn't considered a top 10 player, and is dropping further down the all time list with every passing year. Curry, on the otherhand, is a guaranteed future.top 10 player.

These kobe stans want to latch on to a top 10 player. They've never had the enjoyment of doing that beforr:(

You could, who gives af. I said this before and I'll say it again, if your team is not in the playoffs, you don't have to go into hibernation and come out once the champion is declared. Root for whoever tf you want in the playoffs, it really doesn't matter.

Did you mention the Clips because our teams are "supposed" to be rivals, even though we have NEVER met in the playoffs? Celtics, Spurs, Suns, Rockets, Kings...those are our real rivals.

It's a different story if say the Lakers made the playoffs, and some of the "fans" continued to root for the Warriors. That's a completely different story, and those fans are worth bashing. But people who's teams didn't make the playoffs? Who are you gonna be rooting for this playoffs, seeing as you are a Kings fan? Or are you gonna be modest jack who watches the entire playoffs with a neutral stance and has no excitement in life?

I find the game more enjoyable when I root for one team vs the other, and I'm pretty sure everyone will agree with me on this.

You should root for your team through thick or thin, and never root for a division rival. It's OK to root for another team if your team misses the playoffs, but it should preferably be an out of conference team.

The sad thing is Laker fans are just rooting, they have become absolute Stans, acting as if they have always been Curry fans and he is one of theirs.

I root for long series and close games. I don't go into the playoffs rooting for one particular team. It isn't that difficult if you're a sports fan.

I got your back. You meat to say, "Why do we allow Cavs fans to stan Lebron on the Cavs, burn his jersey while bleeding profusely from the vag when he leaves, hop on the Heat bandwagon, disappear when Bron cost Wade his championship, hop off the Heat wagon when he can't get it done, BACK onto the Cavs wagon all the while bending over and taking it like a bitch as Lebron has complete control of your players, front office, coach, and is still passively threatening to leave AGAIN"?

Lebron supporters are a funny bunch.

If he makes it to the finals and wins he's praised for winning.
If he makes it to the finals and loses he's praised for making it to the finals and gets a free pass for losing becuse he lost to a "west team".

No sense of what it means being a winner and being a loser. :lol

It's the same for all the sports I watch, not even the NBA. It really isn't that hard, when you have a huge interest in the sports itself.
