View Full Version : Why I Love Kobe

Kobe says we or should say I love him because he's a 5 time champion, or because he's one of the greatest player ever. While there's nothing to deny or disagree with, that's not the reason I love him.

I love him because of his passion for basketball, the game i love, the game i consider a part of me. Even though I'll never make a great amount of money by playing it, i consider it my passion, more than just a hobby, and things i do are just there but i think one of the best feelings i get is when i step on the court and shoot or play basketball for hours. That's what i see in Kobe, he's a symbol of striving for greatness, willingness to do everything to be better than others. I consider myself really highly competitive, another thing i see in Kobe, how passionate he is when he wants to prove that there's no one better. I see how much he loves his game and it's all his life. There are things like records, stats, fg% or whatever, but that wouldn't make a damn difference if Kobe has a bad shooting night today and just ineffective game overall.

These are probably the biggest reasons i love Kobe. I got some money off playing basketball, but that's just a bonus, this would never be the reason that i would play basketball for, i simply love the game, and it's hard for me to understand how can people who love this game and love playing it can hate this guy, but oh, who am i to judge.

Others things i love about Kobe is how fun he is to watch, his elegance, natural finesse, footwork, skillset, it's like watching a fine dancer dancing with a ball and making basketball an art, a joy to watch.

Maybe people will laugh off this post, but i don't care, i know Kobe doesn't get much love around here, or pretty much everywhere, i feel like people either love him or hate him and there's that "de gustibus non est disputandum" but i feel great as i was around Kobe's best years and got a chance to watch such a great, iconic, and especially for me, a special player.

Even though Kobe had issues , I have to admit at least he brought in young fans into the bball arena of life, to appreciate the game of bball.

I'm glad you posted this. It made me remember the great moments Kobe provided over the years. Otherwise, it's easy to dwell on how he's played this year and off the court issues.

Most of those who dont appreciate kobe are just statnerds who never played ball in their lives. I was like them too when i was young, caring more about stats and fg%. But when I gained more knowledge about the game, I realized you aim to be kobe. The only problem with him is his attitude.

Only fitting the image doesn't work... :oldlol:

Kinda sums it for kobe's career. Just not quite good enough.
