View Full Version : does anyone feel like Wade's 2nd and 3rd ring didn't do much for his legacy?

We can all agree Wade is top 3 SG all time, but in terms of all time ranking those 2 rings didn't really move him up the rankings.

thoughts?

Yes, I agree

I would even say 2011 did more for him than the 2 extra rings

The way he kept shouting "Three!" when Bron won his second FMVP was a little sad and embarrassing. He acted like a castrated alpha would.

Turns out sidekick rings don't count for nearly as much as some Kobe fans would have you believe.

Apparently, they only count for Kobe/Duncan.

If those don't "count", neither should Duncan's last two and Kobe's first 3.

2011 really screwed wade over .. couldve had 2 rings and 2 fmvps w/ great averages in each.

instead gets two rings at only ~20 ppg, true sidekick rings and props the man who fked his ranking up :facepalm

although i dont think nba players care as much as fans

15ppg on 45% through an entire postseason?? :facepalm

You are such a dumb poster.

If Kobetards can spam "5 rangz" then Wade fans can claim all 3 rings.
How does Duncan/Kobe get top 10 rankings for sidekick rings but somehow it hurts Wade?

Bran/Heat/Spurs stans in this thread throwing around hypocrisy like crazy. Lol. Now it's starting to catch up. Maybe the finals MVP award doesn't hold as much weight in basketball discussion when you aren't blinded by kobe hatred?

The sidekick rings stupidity started when Kobe started to win again in 2009 after his haters started claiming he'd never win again without Shaq. We know what happened after that.

The problem with this logic is that is shits on GREAT/PIVOTAL players! Wade, Duncan. Ray Allen come to mind. Same thing as Draymond, Iggy and etc.

No one talks this bad about Kareem or Magic....because no one hated them the way they hate Kobe.

I honestly don't think you're capable of making an intelligent post.
Pippen should not get as much credit as Jordan for all 6 rings.

Of the modern era, "sidekick" talk started with Jordan/Pippen. How do you not know that?

Nobody talks bad about Magic/Kareem because they were equals for all but one of their rings (Kareem was 40 and done). If you compare their stats/impact over the course of their run they are equals, and each should have 3 FMVPs. All of their FMVPs are debatable because they were so close to each other.

Shaq was clearly superior to Kobe in the Finals. None of their FMVPs are debatable at all, not even close. Kobe was clearly a sidekick.

If LeBron wasn't a ***** in the 2011 finals, Wades legacy would of been much higher.

But 2012 ring definitely adds to Wade's legacy
22\5\5\2\1 regular season playing only 32 MPG
23\6\5\2\1 playoffs
23\5\4\2\1 finals

He was clearly still an all-star top 10 in the league player. Not to mention his playoff numbers are slightly lowered because he didn't need to do much versus the Knicks, it was a blowout series and was doubled versus Boston a majority of the series.

In 2013 he was a top 10 player in the league regular season, and still played at an all-star level in the Finals. Injuries just killed him in the Eastern playoffs. Happens.

Not debating with anyone who think Lebron is "skilled" offensively.

Tell me more how Kobe wasn't shit during the 3peat tho.

Nah you gotta give Wade full credit for those rings cause we all know good and well Wade played a CRITICAL role in helping LeBron and that Heat team win those rings he made major contributions. As far as his legacy goes his greatness is a given the resume speaks for itself I don't think anyone is diminishing that. The fact you ISH nerds even call LeBrons stint in Miami "collusion" is acknowledging LeBron teamed up with such great players in Wade and Bosh that it shifted the whole power structure of the NBA. Those second and third rings cemented his legacy as an all time great. The Wade era Heat will always be remembered and respected in history.

"Unskilled" Lebron averages more points and assists on better efficiency and 3pt% so what does that make Kobe:roll:

You can't debate with anyone because you're an idiot with ZERO basketball knowledge.

Tell me more about how Kobe was better than Shaq though

2007 Duncan was clearly, and I mean clearly, the best player on that Spurs team.

This was not even a question or debate or anything back then, nor should it have been.

So Iggy was the Warriors best player last season?

GrapeApe
04-13-2016, 06:11 PM
Of course they enhanced his leagacy. He was an all-star and all-NBA player both seasons. They obviously aren't first option rings, but if you win a title as an all-NBA player they are still pretty significant. There's a lot of great players who would LOVE to have a pair of "sidekick" rings.

In the finals apparently he was which is why he won FMVP over Curry even though Curry deserved it over Iggy IMO.
