They were up by like 5 in the last few seconds then happened to lose? Funny just when the rockets clinched their playoff seed. I'm betting the jazz intentionally lost. Why? Because of a better pick in the lotto. With no playoffs hope, by losing they get a better pick over Washington. I'm willing to bet the whole kobe fest was a league figure told the jazz or something. Of course the latter may be a reach but I firmly believe the jazz tanked the game. Come on the evidence is right there. :oldlol:

You suck at watching games. "firmly believe" lol gtfo with that. A 0.4% chance of having a better pick (or whatever that # is) is not worth getting raped by 37yo Kobe on national television

Kobe jizzed all over Hayward's face. That dude was definitely trying to take advantage of the spotlight. He just failed.

I dont think they tanked the game but they could of done a lot more. They didn't follow through on closing Kobe on his shots knowing they deferred to him on every possession.

The good news for the Jazz was that I had a dream last night and they beat all odds and won the lottery for the first pick...

Woke up this morning and was like WTF??? Why the hell was a dreaming about freakin Jazz and lottery picks...

Washington doesn't have a pick. Utah is in horrible drafting position regardless. You never want to be a middle seed that misses the playoffs, 9th seed is the worst position any team can be in.

So they lost the game for potentially for 12th pick that has only seen 2 HOF's drafted ?

yeah....they tanked the game so hard that Kobe had to score 15 pts on 5/5 shooting in the last 3 min for them to even win the game... And they weren't giving him wide open layups, he pulled up from 3 to cut it to 1 and pulled up from 20 ft to hit the go-ahead shot... lol

They've tanked all year. If Withey had been playing instead of Lyles they are at least the 5th seed. The front office is certainly happy to have a shot at a top pick rather than get beat down by the Warriors..

Let's be logical; the Jazz most likely weren't even aware that the Rockets ended up eliminated, so they were likely playing with the supposition that their playoffs run was on the line.

Any team with a healthy locker-room culture will do what they need to in order to focus on the game at hand all-intensively; that includes ensuring that the players ignore any externalities and focus strictly on the game at hand. When NBA-seeding goes down to the wire as it has this week, coaches can not let their players focus on other dependencies, such as the Rockets losing to the Kings last night; they need to ensure that their players do all that they can to control what they can, which is focusing on that game as if their playoffs hopes are still in the air.

It really isn't cogent at all to suggest that the Jazz had any reason to tank, but sure; let's pretend that it isn't impressive that a 37-year-old scored 60 points and shot extra-efficiently in the fourth quarter despite playing 42 minutes. :oldlol:

I wont say intentional, but of course they aint trying hard near the end of the game as a playoffs team is supposed to try.

Lets be real, lbron is still 2 and 4 in the finals and the chances of him even having a winning record in the finals, is pretty much non existent.

Let's be real...any self-respecting player wouldn't tank. Even after hearing that Houston had won.

What was obviously unnatural about the game was the other side of the ball...Laker players not even looking to shoot because it was Kobe's night. Hence the 50 shots, the most ever as far as I know.

Not completely true; it is the most in modern-NBA history, but there are at least several games where Kobe was quantitatively outshot—Wilt with 62, 58, and 57 in his 78-, 63- and 61-point games, respectively, and Elgin Baylor with 55 attempts in his 63-point game.

I'm sure there's a considerable amount more, but they are not readily searchable as the modern games are due to the fact that FGAs were not systematically registered on the official stat sheets until the 1983-84 season.
