1. Jordan
2. Kobe
3. Shaq
4. Kareem
5. Bird
6. Wilt
7. Lebron
8. Magic
9. Duncan
10. Hakeem
11. Charles
12. Erving
*13. Curry (moving on up this list by leaps and bounds)

And not to discuss Bill Russell but we all know he'd be a great, and maybe even superstar player, in this era but it is unlikely he'd ever achieve much more than a Ben Wallace nowadays.

------------------
Made some edits (put Hakeem in there).

Also, yeah Curry wouldn't be ranked 13 if he retired today, but he cemented that spot as his given even a normal future. 2x MVP, 1 time champion, and by and far away the best at doing what bball is all about - shooting. He could of easily scored 36 ppg this season if he played more minutes/didn't sit out 20 fourth quarters. He changed the game in a way only prime Shaq has. He's redefined the sport.

I don't have Lebron as top 10. He is about 15.

Props for a good original list but why lebron over magic?

The eye test. As silly as Bron he's better than Magic. It's close.

Kobe was the 2nd GOAT, regardless of last night.

But the icing tastes good.

I was happy for Kobe going out like that but unfortunately dillusions of granger popped up since than don't you think 50 shots coupled with extreme adrenaline of last game helped put up the last hurrah ? One meaningless game does not jump Kobe up to top 5 when he was outside of top 10 before that..

decent list, though to be objective I'd put Hakeem over Dr.J and Curry, he had a far bigger impact as a player and better accolades

Curry is like top 20 all-time status, can't be sniffing no top 10 without at least 1 Finals MVP

Nick Young

top 1.

How many points did MJ score on his final game?

Exactly.

Your post is weak, he was never out the top 10. That's why you can't properly evaluate basketball players.

Finally a list without Bill "DeAndre Jordan" Russell. I would put Olajuwon there and Magic higher.
Also, too soon for Curry.

Where is Hakeem?

Finally a list without Bill "DeAndre Jordan" Russell. I would put Olajuwon there and Magic higher.
Also, too soon for Curry.

Russell wasn't as athletic as DeAndre though. So basically he was a less athletic version of DeAndre. And weaker

So if Curry's career ends today he's the 11th best player to play the game?

Dude had an amazing season but you all are getting carried away in the moment.

Damn , I never liked Kobe and I dont know why but I feel sad he's retired. 60 points in your last game, holy ****. Best scoring output of the season of any player, too.

This.

If Curry has an injury Rose-like he is no way the 11th best player to play this game.

Finally someone making sense :applause:

11 rings

the only one that can compare to Jordan, maybe KAJ too.

the farewell tour and taking 50 shots in his last game might be the most cringe thing ive seen in the NBA. too me he just cemented himself outside the top10

Well Kobe is still No.12 as hes supposed to be. Lets face it, it can be debatable if it's only ESPN that ranked Kobe at 12. As far as I know, however, Sports Illustrated also had Kobe at 12, so it proves that No.12 is where Kobe belongs.

Top five he cemented his legacy last night.

So dumb to think that a game where he was force fed 50 shots to get 60 points means anything regarding all-time status. It was a nice moment for Kobe and his fans, and that is it.
