Edit: It's better to say Kobe was drafted the year the Bulls got the 72-10 record and retired the season the Warriors beat the record.

He got drafted in '96, but I always thought the draft belongs to the following season, not the past one.

kobe was drafted in 96 not 95. In other words kobe wasn't in the league when the bulls went 72-10 but he was drafted shortly after.
