Not true at all.

Bill Russell is 11/12, that doesn't make him the GOAT.

Two players that were closest to GOAT were Tim Duncan (0.4 second shot/ Ray Allen shot) preventing him from 7 rings chasing his eight and Shaq (Kobe choked 04/andersons missed freethrows in 95)

Kobe is like 500000miles away from GOAT.

Just no.
Kobe doesn't have the personal accolades to be in the same ballpark as Jordan. Why can't he just be a legendary player, who made history himself. Why are his stans always trying to irrationally prop him up? Same for Lebron or any other athlete. Also neither Duncan nor Shaq are close, but compared to Kobe they had a chance when they were young, but by the time Shaq started winning it was too late already, because he didn't acquire enough personal accolades.

That leaves Duncan and his prolonged success and the way he plays within the team is marvelous, but Jordan was the main contributor for anything the Bulls did, throughout his whole career. Lebron is similar, but he simply lost to much and failed personally at those loses - atleast at one of those it was 100% his fault.

So no, none of these guys come close to Jordan. The only two that can be argued are Russell and Kareem.

5 games , 5 mvps , 5 more finals mvps , 5% higher shooting, will have got him in contention...

STEPH is the new top dog and makes Kobe look seriously normal.. Lebron looks like a football player on a bball floor compared to Steph... Steph truly has shown us what GOAT ball looks like...

nobody makes Kobe look normal. even a 37 year old injury ridden Kobe in his 20th season still had flashes of brilliance that would make viewers question father time himself.

curry is the new torch holder and has earned the right to be called the best in the world now. however, both kobe and bron have been at this level for ages.

kobe was not 5 games away from being the GOAT. i don't think it is even possible to ever be 5 games away from being the GOAT. to be the GOAT you would have to have dominated in such a special way consistently for at least a decade to leave no doubt. I would say if Kobe had matured at a younger age to involve his teammates (ala 08 and beyond) and not look down on them all as lesser beings, he could have been the GOAT. imagine if he had started to play the way he did in 08, in 03 instead.

Alot of that was dependant on Shaq, Salary cap and chemistry, too.

Shaq had two more top level years in him, but in hindsight he demanded a too big deal and Kobe, even the matured one, would've been stuck with Odom, Smush, etc.

Had Shaq taken the smaller deal and they had a better roster going into the '05 and '06 season we might've seen a different(better?) career for both players.

kobe is the type of player that could have done wonders with scrubs (and in a sense did) because of his ability and mindset to just take over games completely. altho that is key when playing with scrubs, if he had empowered them rather than belittle them, they could have been trusted with larger roles and the Lakers would have gone deeper in the playoffs post Shaq. Kobe only started to realize this in 08.

Dont forget the bogus foul on Ginobili in '06. Duncan could have 8 titles now, including a potential 5 straight from '03 to '07.

Neither Kobe or Lebron at the level Steph played this season.. Everyone knows it... Im not even the biggest Steph fan.. But the truth is the truth.. THE GUY IS PLAYING AT MJESQUE LEVELS.. Lebron was close but he always cherry picked his shots to help his field goal percentage... Steph takes 35 footers and makes about the same percentage LEBRON and Kobe made from 10-20 feet...

UNFREAKING REAL:bowdown:

Obviously he has to keep up the Greatness in the playoffs...

I REMEMBER THAT.. And its true but the SUNS were screwed when Rob Horry hit NASH... I believe and Amare and others missed playoff games.. The Suns wound up losing.. They would have won that series
