If he scored 14 on his next 26 FGA's, he could have matched Kobe's output.

And if he had scored 54 on his next 39 FGA's, he would have tied Wilt's record.

Yeah he's insane.
His 51 point game against Orlando came on 27 shots and 1 free throw.
THINK ABOUT THAT. It seems impossible.
He used 27 possessions (the ft was an and-1) to get 51 points.
20-27 shooting =40 points + 10 extra points from threes = 50 points
And the free throw.
He's the greatest shooter in nba history by FAR. He makes guys who need 40 shots to get big points look silly and inept in comparison.

Wilt can't lace Curry's boots. Neither can Kobe. Try again.

If I made 20 3-pointers in a row I'd have tied Kobe while taking 30 fewer shots.
My gerbil could have tied Kobe if he hit 60 free throws while taking 0 shots from the floor.

Curry plays the right way. He gets his points within the flow of the game, not at the expense of it. That is night and day from what we saw from Kobe, which wasn't really an actual NBA game but a freak show type exhibition game where every single one of Kobe's teammates got him the ball and got out of his way. Pretty disgraceful from a purist perspective. But I get it. It was Kobe's last game and all.

Think of how easy it would have been for him to break the 3 point record that game too. He had 10 threes before sitting the rest of the game.

I can't believe that went unnoticed. 3 more threes. Sometimes I wonder if steph would benefit more if he were a little more selfish. Go for some records.
Agree with clipper. The difference in approach was rather stark in the Warriors and lakers games. You never felt that Curry went outside the offense or tried to make it about him. Everything can naturally to him.

Feeny, you are hilarious.
Chamberlain had games in which he scored 53 points on 25 FGAs (21-25 and 11-15, with 21 rebounds, and 15 blocks); 53 on 28 (with 27 rebounds); 41 on 18 (with 23 rebounds and 13 assists); 70 on 38; 66 on 35 (29-35 from the floor with 28 rebounds); 41 on 17 (16-17 and 9-11); 42 on 18 (18-18 BTW, with 39 rebounds and 10 assists); 52 on 29 (with 37 rebounds); 53 on 23 (with 38 rebounds); 53 on 29 (with 32 rebounds and 14 assists); ...hell he even had a must win Finals game of 45 on 27 (with 27 rebounds.) And then there are his 30+ on less than 20 (games like 37 points on 16-16 from the field, and 5-7 from the line; or 32 on 15.)
It is Curry who can't hold a candle to Chamberlain in terms of staggering efficient games (and that doesn't begin to add in rebounds, and defense.) Furthermore, Chamberlain was hanging those games in an era of 44% league-wide shooting, while Curry's has come in leagues of 50% shooting.
But thanks for playing.
Once again...Feeny the clown.

Jordan had FAR less turnovers, which squashes Curry's assist advantage, and leaves him with only ONE category that he leads - true shooting.
Jordan leads in every other category:
Per 100 Possessions
JORDAN 1991 RS: 42.7 pts.. 8.1 reb..4 7.5 ast.. 3.3 tov.. 3.7 stl.. 1.4 blk.. 60.4 ts.. 125 ORtg.. 31.6 PER.. 0.321 WS/48
CURRY 4 2016 RS: 42.5 pts.. 7.7 reb..4 9.4 ast.. 4.7 tov.. 3.0 stl.. 0.3 blk.. 66.9 ts.. 125 ORtg.. 31.5 PER.. 0.318 WS/48
JORDAN 1991 PO: 41.8 pts.. 8.5 reb.. 11.2 ast.. 3.4 tov.. 3.2 stl.. 1.8 blk.. 60.0 ts.. 127 ORtg.. 32.0 PER.. 0.333 WS/48
Jordan had higher Player Efficiency Rating (PER) and equal points-per-possession (ORtg), even though Curry's efficiency is boosted by carrying a smaller load on both sides of the ball: he doesn't play defense and scores a lower proportion of his team's points:

Since Jordan reached the holy grail of basketball (winning championship and FMVP) while carrying a bigger load, who cares about true shooting.
This notion that Curry is on Jordan's level due to true shooting ALONE is ludicrous - if that was the case, then Tyson Chandler, Ibaka, Dell Curry and Reggie Miller would also be on Jordan's level..
