Rose was already injury prone and Noah never played more than 36MPG:lol

Rose was never injury prone until 2012....

Guys like Tim Duncan, LeBron James, etc will also be injury prone if they had Thibs coaching them for their careers.

Okay maybe not Lebron

This would be a low key brilliant move by either Thibs or Van Gundy. The Wolves are young and extremely raw but have insane potential if guided and developed properly. Towns and Wiggins are both potential perennial all stars and 2 way impact players. A few good moves to shore up their roster and they could challenge for top 4 seed in 3 years or so.

Correct

It has the potential, and the narrative fallback of being a young and developing team if progress is slower than expected. Good move by a coach.

Agreed, teams usually will give the coach a couple of years when they're in the development stage.

Scott Brooks lasted 5 years with the Thunder
Mike Brown had 5 years with the Cavs
Casey has 5 years with the Raptors now
Thibs had 5 years with the Bulls
Wittman had like 5 years with the Wiz
Byron Scott most likely will last another year or two with the Lakers

Teams like this usually have a 3-5 year development plan, as long as you aren't HORRIBLE your job is pretty much safe.

Coaching gigs where you're coaching a team with some sort of expectations usually never ends well

See:

Hoiberg with the Bulls
Donovan with OKC
Blatt with the Cavs
Jason Kidd w/ the nets a few years ago.

Rose played 81, 78 and 81 games prior to tearing his achilles, idiot. Noah played 37 mpg in 2013. Luol Deng played 37 or more MPG for five straight years, now he's only a shell of his former self. Jimmy Butler had to play 39 minutes a game.

Thibs runs his players to the ground. Wiggins career will be over in the blink of an eye.

Love this so fuuuuucking much!

Wiggins is a Pippen level two way monster with the right coach.

Towns could end up being what Chris Webber was supposed to be.

That means potentially two top 30 all time players. Lavine could reinvent the 6man job (if Shabazz doesn't take it from him) and Rubio and Dieng can just roam around and do their thing.

If Thibs can teach Lavine defense..? Ahhh shhhhhhiiiit!

Potential = French word for hasn't done shit yet. So there IS work to be done, no doubt.

As for running players down, Wiggins has logged heavy minutes already, nothing to see here.

Do it, DO IT!

Tearing your Achilles isn't a "wear and tear" injury, it's a freak accident type of injury.

Ok, ok you got me, Noah played 36.8 MPG as his career high but you fail to realize that Noah had dealt with injuries his entire career. His other highest MPG was 35, otherwise all his seasons have been in the low 30's. Hardly running him into the ground:facepalm Dude just doesn't have a durable body

Luol Deng...held up! He is a shell of his former self because #1) He never put up big numbers and #2) Up until this year his PER 36 stats have been virtually identical.:facepalm

Jimmy Butler...Great players tend to play a lot when non dominant teams need their best player to play to win. Considering Butler has only played one season above 67 games it is fair to assume he doesn't have the most durable body. 37 MPG this year, Fred Hoiberg must be running him into the ground.

Hi Mr. Resident Tard,

Thank you so much for responding to my post.

Please point out the mistakes, factually correct them (you and facts   ) and counter.

Thanks,

As long as Thibs doesn't clash with management, it'll all be good. His reputation of running players to the ground is slightly true, but he's a tremendous coach and a great defensive mind. His offensive schemes will always be his weakness though.

That is the worry. Seeing him for years, too much ISO ball. Wiggins needs to be groomed by an offensively based coach to reach his full potential IMO, his skill set is too limited. Thibs didn't develop butler, Butler worked himself up in the summers. I think his impact on the D is worth the effort though.

Rose was never injury prone before Thibs became coach. He missed like 1 or 2 games his MVP hear with Thibs but from there it was downhill.

Also, see what happened to the aforementioned Noah, Deng, Butler, and their mpg

Makes what lebron has done look that much more remarkable crazy minutes, most games played in NBA by any player last 6 years and pretty much injury free. A star NBA player should be able to play 36-38 mpg in regular season and 38-40 in playoffs no problem.

Finally a great post, I agree with every point.
Why do other posters just focus on the negatives, yeah, Hoiberg would probably not destroy Butler's career, would you rather have him instead?:confusedshrug:
