Boss just told us all that we should look for further employment due to the company liquidating within the next 2 weeks.
My gf is super excited about purchasing a house in the gold coast but in order to get the loan i need to have been in my job for over 12 months. We got plenty of savings (for the house deposit) but its all in her account (she saves all her money plus some of mine and i take care of all the bills) and its only a matter of time beforw im gna jave to start withdrawing from the savings to cover the bills.....
God i hate these situations
this is not something you can hide.

Why would you even think about hiding it in the first place? Its your GF, she's supposed to support you. And you did not screw up after all, its not your fault.

You should tell her to find a new boyfriend in the next two weeks because you are liquidating your manhood.
Its a perfect opportunity to find a new job that pays more.

Great relationship you're in if you have to ask this question. :oldlol:

Unless you want to wreck your relationship you should be honest. Be upfront so you guys can be conservative with your finances, update that resume and get out job hunting.

Secrets create barriers between people. Choosing to hide something like this is not a good sign and may to bigger problems down the road.

Would you rather go to the mortgage meeting with her for the advisor to say "it looks like you're unemployed"?
If you tell her now, you've both got 2 weeks to find you a job. She might know of an opening somewhere

Well i realise im going to have to tell her eventually (although my plan was to get another job before i had to dip into the savings) i just dont like to get her all paranoid and take her away from this super excited state shes been in lately. Im not concerned about the state of our relationship. Weve faced plenty of hard times together in the past. Its just like u get so far ahead and sht then u gotta deal with this stuff

Stop being a bitch.
This is a PERFECT opportunity to see if she's a gold digging bitch or a real ass keeper.
And why the hell does she control your money?

It's never that simple.
Women run the world and many of them have figured this out now.

It's sad that women are so coddled.
Men are the real prizes.
All women have is a warm hole to plow.

Your life is not a sitcom, you can't pull some Zack Morris shit and pretend to have work when you don't :lol
Obviously if she loves you, she will understand. Most of the times they do. And then look for work, life throws you a haymaker sometimes, you just have to get back out there and do what you have to do.

Just how were you planning on hiding it exactly?

This.
Shit happens. Just be honest and move on. Find another job. If she's the real deal, she won't bat an eye. If she's not, she'll give you grief.
It won't be the last time you lose a job because of some unknown reason, and it likely won't be the worst thing to ever happen to you, so if she can't handle this type of news, then you're fooked anyway.

OP, you gotta tell her. First of all if you love and respect her then you owe it to her to let her know.
If she flips out or gets mad or doesn't support you, this is a GOOD thing. Better to find out whether she has your back or not now, vs. when she's your wife and you have two kids together.

You 100% absolutely have to and should tell her, and as immediately as possible. Some secrets can be kept, this secret would be a big lie to keep.
The only thing you should perhaps do first, for just a few minutes, is sit and think what your REALISTIC options are regarding the house, etc. Review the updated realistic options. Have a clear idea of what is now the smart thing to do, etc.
