View Full Version : The NBA is SO WEAK today, holy shit. Spurs record is proof of this.

There has never been a point of the NBA where it's been this terrible. I was watching the Pistons-Cleveland game yesterday and I saw how the Pistons had what looked like one legit NBA player playing at the end in the big time(Reggie Jackson). The rest looked so bad.
The Spurs won a franchise record 67 wins this year, and it isn't even close to being the best Spurs team in the Tim Duncan era. The team of a decade ago, or even the team of a few years ago would destroy them.
It also shows that GSWs 73 wins arn't because they are the best team ever, but because the league is the worst it's ever been in terms of as a whole. The Warriors have nothing on the allgreat teams of the past 20 years.
There are like 5 teams that are ok:, Golden State, San Antonio, Cleveland, Oklahoma City, LAC, and the rest are literally unwatchable. The other teams have no stars, no nothing.

Yeeeeaaaaaa, please give me the East a decade ago vs the East today :facepalm
The west has the 3 best teams (GSW, SA, OKC), but a decade ago the conference was so deep, the #13 and #14 picks in the draft both had .500 records.
There is no team right now in the playoffs with a record below .500, I don't remember the last time that happened.

The quality of the games right now is garbage, the league is really desperate for another superstar..
Couldn't agree more about the Warriors 73 wins. Half the games they were playing against d league teams..

But if the Cavs win the title, you will say that the league is strong?
Op is an idiot. Per usual.

This years, and the 2014 Spurs are the best Spurs teams ever.
lol at any other Spurs team being as good as the recent versions. Basketball has never seen ball movement as good as these recent Spurs teams. Not the recent Miami Heat, not the Celtics, and not the Showtime Lakers.

Hell no.
They didn't have a set of elite wing defenders, and scorers from that position like now in Kawhi.

no way .. they were riding tony parker and danny green way too hard. This years team is far more balanced and deadly.

also, having seen spurs teams since early 2000s, this team is on par with some of their teams from a decade ago. yea the big 3 are older now but theyve added a ton of young talent, and still have the old guys IQ and leadership to back it up.
As far as the league being weak, maybe in terms of superstars its weak but theres much better team ball nowadays, pretty funny that OP mentioned reggie jackson as detroits only "real" player .. is really a testament to his knowledge in the first place.

Talent level is at all time low right now. Just look at the past 5 years in the draft. Very few superstars.
For all the talk of the talent pool growing so much, in actuality it hasn't. Yea more people play, but the talent pool for basketball requires very tall people, and those are never in large supply. I think there will be a jump in the quality in a few years as the 2015 draft class matures, and the 2017 class enters.

They were a lot better. They just ran than this years team, which is overrated offensively. This teams has holes than on offense

They didn't have Danny Greene and Kawhi Leonard? The same Kawhi Leonard that played Lebron amazingly in that series? They were a top tier defensive team with better offensive components for playoff basketball.
The Heat were just an al time level team
