Since the decision...

2FMVP (tied Kobe)
2MVP (doubled Kobe)
4 Finals
27 game win streak (Kobe never sniffed that)
5x All NBA 1st team
4x All NBA 1st Defense

hmmm ok

June 30, 2012...after carrying Miami without Bosh throughout the playoffs and to a Finals win with an injured Bosh. Larry Bird soon after called it the best playoff run of all time.

And given that Kobe only had one Finals run where he was unquestionably the best player on his team, this feat by Lebron put him above Kobe on the all-time list.

I think so. After he did that, he wasn't being compared to anyone. Instead, everybody from Magic to Barkley to pundits were claiming he'd possibly pass Jordan all time. Others stated that he already was "in that category" whether he wins another or not.

Jon Barry said that on the espn panel standing next to Magic. He stated, rightfully so, that titles are a team accomplishment. If you wanted him to win one in order to start putting him in the elite category, he'd done that, and it doesn't make sense to start counting rings because not everybody plays in the same situation. Indivudlsly speaking, he was at an all time great level. He wasn't far off from peak MJ. He almost reached basketball perfection by that point.

Id probably agree... shot Kobe's career finals percentage, while outrebound, assisting and scoring him in large degrees, for the 4th straight time.. it was historic.

Sometime between 2013 and now, can't pinpoint it, but his overall body of work started overwhelming kobe's. Kobe still has an accolade advantage, but lebron has been an outright better player for a longer period of time.

Exactly right! I have Bron in the top 10 GOAT, but he hasn't passed Mamba by yet. Only Kareem, Mamba, and MJ have at least 30,000 points AND 5 rings. So as great as Bron is, he still has some distance to get on that level GOAT wise.

I think Lebron and Kobe are in the same tier in terms of all-time ranking.

1st tier: Jordan, KAJ, Russell, Wilt
2nd tier: Magic, Bird, Duncan, Shaq
3rd tier: Lebron, Kobe, Hakeem, Moses

They aren't necessarily in order within the tiers, but I think those groupings reflect the general positioning of the consensus top 12. It's all subjective of course and varies based on each person's individual criteria.

Only MJ and maybe Kareem have a legit argument over Kobe. Kobe is at least top 5 All-Time.

Solid tiers you got there but Kobe should be in 2nd tier he had better career than both Shaq and Bird.

He has not. And very likely never will.

He's received far too much ref help throughout his entire career. Far more than Kobe. Which meas it's an absolutely staggering, historical amount.

And yet with all that ref help he's still came up short a shocking amount of times.

Never passed him.

Only ESPN and insecure LeBron Stans on this board (who are melting down because their boy will never win another ring, nor will he have a legendary final act like KB60) believe that.

:lebroncry:

One more finals loss and LeBron will be out of the Top 15 though. :lebronamazed:

If LeBron loses to the Pistons though, will he still be in the top 15? Or does he get penalized more for making the Finals instead?

Kobe, Lebron, Bird, Dr. J, Moses, and Hakeem...

all anywhere in the 8-13 range.

But in no way is Lebron higher than that. No matter what that ESPN "Panel of Experts" (aka...their night janitors) may have listed.

If Hakeem is 8 - 13 then your Boy Wilt is 20 at best.

Hakeem was better at anything in a wayyyyyy better era of bball where not only midgets where playing.

If he loses to the Pistons it'll be one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) upset in NBA history (to go along with the 2011 loss to the Mavs). It'll be even WORSE for his legacy if it goes down like that.

Hakeem is in the 3-6 range

If you include Duncan...

on the list of All-time Centers, Hakeem is either 6 or 7.

1. Wilt
2.KAJ
3. Russell
4. Shaq
5. Duncan
6. Moses or Hakeem

What the hell are u talking about?? GOAT status includes a number of factors. Given the fact that Bron is only 31 AND already has an epic resume, its VERY CONCEIVABLE he will pass Kobe by GOAT wise at some point. Time is on Bron's side in that regard. THEN AGAIN, he might not pass Kobe by because u never know what will happen in the future. But three KEY things Bron has on Kobe already:

- 4 MVPs

- Redefined the SF position. Kobe didn't redefine the SG position in such a way. Him being SO SIMILAR to MJ likely hurt him in that regard

- Likely the most versatile player of all time.

If Bron adds to his ring count and keeps putting up epic numbers, Bron DESERVES to pass Kobe by on a GOAT list. So OF COURSE if Bron keeps hitting milestones IT WILL HELP HIM PASS KOBE BY GOAT WISE!! DUMBASS!! Peak-better player status AND GOAT status are two different things. For example, I think Shaq is a better player than Bill Russell was. BUT GOAT wise, Russ has the edge on Shaq.
