Innocent Man Befriends Crooked Cop Who Sent Him To Prison
http://static.vibe.com/files/2016/04/innocent-man-forgives-crooked-cop.png
In Benton Harbor, Mich., back in 2005, Jameel McGee said he was going about his day when he was randomly accused and arrested for dealing drugs. McGee said the accusations leveled against him weren’t true, but unfortunately, no one believed him.
“I falsified the report,” former Benton Harbor police officer Andrew Collins said. “Basically, at the start of that day, I was going to make sure I had another drug arrest.”
Collins did as he planned even if it meant putting McGee, an innocent man behind bars. McGee served four years for a crime he didn’t commit and said he lost everything due to being incarcerated. Upon his release, he claims to only have had one objective.
“My only goal was to seek him when I got home and to hurt him,” McGee said.
Eventually Collins’ unscrupulous ways caught up to him and he served 18 months for falsifying many reports, planting drugs and stealing. McGee was later exonerated, and about a year after his release, McGee and Collins by sheer happenstance ended up at a faith-based employment agency where they now work together at a cafe in the same small Benton Harbor town. It was because of their cramped quarters the two had no choice but to hash it out.
“I said, ‘Honestly, I have no explanation, all I can do is say I’m sorry,'” Collins explained.
And for McGee, that’s all he needed to hear.
Collins, who was humbled by McGee’s forgiveness, said he was moved to tears.
“And I just started weeping because he doesn’t owe me that. I don’t deserve that,” Collins said.
McGee and Collins are not just coworkers or cordial, the two are now friends. McGee has spoken with several news outlets about his Christian faith and his hope for a kinder mankind. He uses his experience along with Collins to give speeches about the importance of forgiveness and redemption.
Honorable yes, but could you be McGee if placed in his shoes? Sound off.
The sad part is, judging by the responses by mostly Blacks on the video and in the article, Black people will always stay losing and will never learn.
The comments are awesome.

some blacks have a victim mentality. thats why forgiveness is absurd to them.

"Some mark ass trick just stepped on my sneaker, and poured Morton's salt all over 'em. Are ya'll ready to ride? RABBLE RABBLE! Lets ride on these fools at their own bar-b-que!"
Some people have too much time on their hands. That, and they're just common trash. Add the two together, and that's what you get.

That'd be very hard to forgive.
And if he ended up killing the crooked cop, i'd turn the other way.

Then you'd end up going back to the same jail where you spent the last 4 years of your life. Doesn't make sense at all to think like that. The cop got what was coming to him. He lost his career and spent some time in jail too as a result.
But to think that murder is justifiable here in any fashion is just animal mentality. Any violent act towards another person is animal mentality. You're no better than a pig who slops around in his own shit.

It is what it is.
He took away 4 years of that man's life and left him scarred with felonies.
If he killed him, he'd be justified.

The biggest tragedy in modern day America is that whites and blacks aren't aligned as traditional Americans. They're the two groups that have been in America since the beginning.

You're a horrible parent as is prior to this conversation. You have mental issues which is clearly visible on how you incessantly post your private life details on a message board full of strangers. Even to the point of posting pictures of your children. You are more a danger to them than the creep staring at them at the convenience store.
There is nothing to understand about violence and/or murder. "Oh, I understand why he killed him" isn't an acceptable thought. Ever.

You're just an abusive person and you don't know anything about my parenting skills. You have no idea what I do on a daily basis with my children or what I teach them.
But maybe you're just a troll.

Wait, if you're exonerated because of crimes you didn't commit, won't you get some compensation? Or can't he sue the city or the policeman who falsify his report in the first place?

And if I was that white dude, i'd distance myself from the black guy because maybe the black guy can only be strong for so long before he snaps.

He can sue, but perhaps he could not afford an attorney. There's not a lot of info on the whole story, just the fact that they are now friends. As if fate used them as an example of how people can be redeemed and how we should all treat one another in the end.
Sad to see a lot of fake tough guys on here crying for violence and murder. Ya'll would be the first bitches on your knees begging for mercy. It takes a bigger man to swallow his pride and forgive and look the other way.

Amen.
So you'd have to forgive the falsely incarcerated man if he sat in a cage like an animal for 4 years and sought revenge upon his release.

Amen.
So you'd have to forgive the falsely incarcerated man if he sat in a cage like an animal for 4 years and sought revenge upon his release.
Only if he repented. The idea of forgiveness is predicated on repentance. Forgiving someone for something that they don't even regret doing is plain idiocy, and also not Christian.
I saw this, and honestly, it made me happy. I was proud of the black man for accepting there is NOTHING that can be done. He MAY have became a better man through humbling himself. We learned a shit load from this story. A cop working a job like that because he himself did not honor what he suited up to do.
It's a lesson in general to forgive and forget. To honor your job to serve and protect your people. Cops are the first call, their role in the community are vital to the growth of civilized people. If the people protecting us themselves who enforce the law cannot do it purely, it's something they live with forever.

Black people are better Christians than most people in one respect. They are forgiving to a fault.

The revenge was in showing forgiveness to the officer and the officer could do little more than feel incredibly embarassed and ashamed.
You can never take back that mistake, that officer will have to live with his guilt til the day he dies.

Well...the idea is not to get caught.
This dude got caught doing NOTHING... how the **** is he gonna get away with murdering a prominent ex-cop?
But yeah, he'd be the first suspect on the list and would get caught immediately.
I just think the black guy is incredibly dumb/religious, and was probably just relieved and happy to be free. Even a dummy like that can understand it's not remotely worth it to seek revenge. Now if he was in prison for 25 years it's a different story.
