Wow. Suns would have been better off signing him as a player.

He got along with Markieff.

Suns management is terrible, I can't imagine Watson and his crew outsmarting opposing coaching staffs very often, but after the recent trend of disrespecting their own players I guess locker room stability was the top priority.

They didn't even look at anyone else, the tank continues!

Well yes, there are better options, the available coaches pool right now is stronger than ever.

Hornacek had obviously lost the locker room since the Markieff situation.
I know it's not entirely the coach's fault the tragedy happened but the players are definitely not seeing him as the same guy they had since day one. Besides he lost so many close games during his tenure as head coach. It was certain that he had to go.

Watson on the other hand, somewhat was able to gather the lost respect from the young team. He had managed minutes rather well for the young guys to develop and that had led to a good (though not represented by wins) period towards the end of the season.

I would be keen to see how he will go about dealing with the playtime of Booker, Bledsoe, Knight. Still hopeful the Suns can deal Knight, which they should.

MCD is a dumbass who's not going to own up to his mistakes. He's not going to admit that signing Knight to a high value contract was a dumb panic move, he's not going to admit letting Thunder Dan go for rookie head coach Hornacek was a mistake, in hindsight.

Giving Watson the opportunity, I feel it's a move to contain whatever little security the players and staffs have for the organisation.

1) Thunder Dan who managed his role well was disregarded when they sign Rookie coach Hornacek.
2) Goran Dragic who played out of his mind was slapped in the face when they regard Bledsoe, who was injury prone and hasn't done shit, as top priority.
3) Morris bros incident

just make u feel like the players and staffs are not going to feel comfortable about their positions in the organisation. Signing Watson feels like a move to avoid another Thunder Dan situation, and to stablise the locker room. Well just my thoughts.

Ryan McDonough is potentially the worst GM in the NBA.
Good scout, bad GM.

Could have signed Watson for one year and seen how a basically unproven coach went, but nah went 3. It's not like he was going to walk, and if he did who cares.
