It's astonishing how much attention the transgender community gets in media and culture now. You would think these people are common and not <1% of the population.
I do think it's amusing that so many trans supporters like to point out how much more likely trans ppl are to kill themselves, like that increased likelihood has everything to do with the surrounding world and not the fact that most of these ppl are psychologically fcked up all by themselves

That's the point. People react this way because the positions in question are discriminatory.

Exactly. Anyone who will pay $20,000 for a surgeon to chop off their dick and balls because they believe they are a woman trapped in a man's body is obviously suffering from severe mental illness.

The trans hype train was rollin way before NC.
Trans community was lib progressive's favorite new pet for awhile. It is trendy to admire , if you don't hold up the trans community in a sphere of grace, you are either evil or not intellectual enough lol.
I dunno why people get so offended when you suggest such a profound disconnect between biology and self-actualization could and should be construed as a mental illness

I'm not talking about formally.
Had no impact in American culture? WTF.
Just look at all the Caitlyn Jenner dick sucking after his photoshoot, ESPN awards, award winning television shows, Oscar nominated films, segments on talk radio, hosted shows championing trans folk.
There is clearly push from a segment of the media and liberal avenues to display the transgender plight as admirable and not as abnormal.

So ESPN is the liberal media? You don't see how a decades long incredibly popular and famous Olympic hero going transgendered would be a popular media story that has nothing to do with a liberal movement?

LMAO you must not pay attention to ESPN these days. Also, covering a sports story is a lot different than awarding Jenner in fornt of the sports world for his life choices. Favre's clap said it all :lol
Yes, ESPN is very much part of the liberal media. I'm not a paranoid Conservative at all, I'm still registered Democrat but it's pretty simple to see what ideologies ESPN is pushing these days. They went from more of a meritocracy and now are a network of quota fillers as voices on their network. Doesn't take a conspiracy theorist to see their corporate shift in terms of giving a platform to the standard SJW lib progressive rhetoric.

It is absolutely wrong for doctors to exploit these poor victims of mental illness by accepting tens of thousands of dollars to surgically mutilate their genitals and inject them with unnatural hormones.

Liberals with too much time on their hands will always need a group to champion and shove in the face of the American public. Today it's transgenders, tomorrow it's polygamy, possibly man-beast love. I wouldn't be surprised to see them come full circle, once Christian numbers drop to a fraction of what they are now, and start championing us. :oldlol:

It's funny how now we're all forced to praise the abnormal and unhealthy (therefore encouraging more of it), lest we be slapped with the hateful bigot label. Excepting a few unfortunate people, this is actually a psychological problem in many of its cases, and is clearly not something that should be so mindlessly indulged.
The word bigot now actually has the same standing as the word heretic did about 500 years ago: it causes a person to be denounced and hated by the mob, allows said mob to abuse the outcast, and so to indulge their spiteful and sadistic fanaticism, while at the same time helping them to feel moral and good and proper for engaging in such despicable behaviour.
People need to realise that the religious impulse is not only present amongst the religious, and that this is just an age-old reemergence of mindless religious fanaticism.

I'm not pro or against transgendered, but I'm definitely against unnecessary laws that specifically discriminate against certain lifestyles.
There are already plenty of laws addressing sexual assaults and sexual predators that pertain to public spaces and public bathrooms. It's completely unnecessary. If you can't see that you're a ****ing moron.
As far as Schilling. This is a long time coming. He probably would have been fine with 1, 2, maybe even 3 of his dumbass statements over the years, but there's a mountain of them and ESPN had enough.
Remember this is the same big bad liberal media outlet that suspended Keith Law for defending evolution. They are corporate and want zero drama.

How is it ****ing discrimination? Trannys should either ask for their own restrooms or use the ones which were designed for them. Just because you dress like a woman doesn't mean that you should be allowed to use their restrooms.

Transgenders should not be encouraged. They should not be able to use bathrooms. If they want to take a piss they should go in the bushes like the animals they are.

There is nothing wrong with this.
The easy answer is that people should be able to use whatever bathroom they want (as long as they use the bathroom for the appropriate things) but you can still have gender signs on the door for suggestions. Mens still have urinals.
All these laws and controversies for what?

This is funny coming from a Muslim such as yourself. The entire world knows that Muslims do not support or condone homosexuality in their religion. Some Muslims kill other Muslims for being homosexuals, but here you are playing both sides of the coin like the deceiving con man that you are.
If you're going to be a religious person (such as myself), and if you want to be considered an American citizen as well, then I cannot fathom how you can disagree or go against what Curt Schilling said.

Actually interesting facts, there are a few big Muslim countries where being gay isn't accepted but being transexual is.
As of 2008, Iran carries out more sex change operations than any other nation in the world except for Thailand. The government provides up to half the cost for those needing financial assistance, and a sex change is recognized on the birth certificate.[1]
If you are a man and you love another man that's against the religious teachings. If you are recognized to be a woman trapped in a man's body, you like men and get an operation, then you are seen as straight.
Regardless we don't have to make every thread about Muslim this and that, do we?

Look man, I'm not saying I disagree with his point here. All I'm saying is that when you work for a company, you can't go around offending every small group you can in the world just because you don't agree with them. There is no crime committed by him so just relax. But the backlash was gonna be major. He needed to act like a professional. He has insulted Muslims as well, but I never held that against him as he has a right to think whatever he wants.
I don't agree with anyone killing anyone unless in time of war when it's inevitable or in self defense. I have a gay cousin and I want him to get the hell out of the 3rd world country he's living in because he's prob in danger even if he is deep in the closet.

Man, you're so damn witty. How's the janitor job going? Where you can brag about nurses undressing you with their eyes in the middle of the night? :lol
Looking forward to the next story you make up, you know I'm a big fan :pimp:
Slurpee man. How 7-11 treating you? The imam hasn't learned your little secret yet. That boy on boy stuff isn't allowed you know.

If you had a gay relative, is he dead to you?
The answer is simple. Whether it be you or I with the gay relative, we should still love them.
We do not have to support gay marriage though if it goes against our own personal beliefs and teachings.
And when someone wants to become a different sex, I would still love them, but I would not support their decision. I would get them medical and psychiatric help.

Nah I was just ribbing you. I agree. It's an unnecessary law and a political move.

Good Schilling is a fvcking moron and bigot. What completely clueless idiot. This whole bathroom discrimination thing is just another signal that the right is being irrelevant.

Most people have no experience with trannies, because there aren't a lot in the West openly. In some countries they have a long tradition for trannies such as India, Thailand and Polynesia.
In some polynesian societies, if the parents don't get a girl, they turn the youngest boy into a tranny who is then expected to take care of the parents. In both India and Thailand, trannies are an accepted part of life, but still considered lowest rung of society.
In Thailand where tranny acceptance is most clear, there are also a long tradition for 'butch lesbians' who dress and try to act like men and this tells me something because what do these butch lesbians generally try to do? They go for feminine women in a dynamic called Tom-Dee, where Tom(boy) is the male role and Dee (meaning pretty) is the woman role.
What do the male trannies do? They generally do their utmost to trick straight men into getting with them in dark nightclubs.
This leads me to believe that transgenderism is generally just a form of homosexuality and studies prove this in that a vast majority of children with gender identity disorder outgrow it within 10 years and most then just label themselves homosexual/bi men and women.

So what it boils down to is that you're afraid you'll stick your dick in someone that used be a man. And its all one big plot to embarrass heterosexual men. lmao

Why is it that when a skinny person thinks they're fat, it's a mental disorder, but when a man thinks he's a woman it's perfectly normal and must be accepted?

Such an idiot. Taking one sentence out of about ten and then making it the sole focus, not even that, but distorting that one sentence into a kind of paranoid pathology. Stop distorting the things people are saying just because you're an ignorant chump without an argument or opinion of his own.
Schilling's a Republican. He's gotta have some group to hate.
And you sir? You don't think your constant derogatory comments aren't a proof that you clearly need a group to hate and demonise for the world to make sense to you?

It's the same shit as always, everyone wants to say anyone can say anything they want and you can't. If you're a public person in a company, you're a rep of that company, and you can't embarrass them on social media, or in public, or at all. PERIOD.
If Curt still wanted to work at ESPN, then he's just a ****ing idiot because he couldn't control himself on twitter, which isn't a good look if you're not a 12 yr old girl.

ESPN should be able to fire anybody for any reason they want. That's fine. If they want to fire people for being anti-tranny or if they want to fire people for being pro-gay, whatever. It's not my company. I don't care.
The problem though is that people like you can't just leave it at that. You feel the need to have the government legislate that people must be forced follow YOUR personal values.
You'd prpbably think it's utterly ridiculous if Curt Schilling claimed he was politically persecuted and that it should be illegal to fire someone for their political beliefs but if someone got fired for being a Muslim you think that crosses some imaginary line. You think it's reasonable for a company to say "your conservative right wing views don't represent this company" but saying "your Muslim views don't represent this company" absolutely must be illegal.
InB4 "political views and religious views are totally different" for no apparent reason and no explanation.

It isn't perfectly normal. It's a mental illness known as body dysmorphia. It is disgusting how doctors and society are enabling these suffering people and pandering so hard to encourage their delusions.
The very high suicide rate of "post gender-conversion" trannies shows that it is not beneficial to enable their delusions.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_dysmorphic_disorder
Body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), also known as body dysmorphia or dysmorphic syndrome, but originally termed dysmorphophobia, is a mental disorder characterized by an obsessive preoccupation that some aspect of one's own appearance is severely flawed and warrants exceptional measures to hide or fix it.[1] In BDD's delusional variant, the flaw is imagined.[2] If the flaw is actual, its importance is severely exaggerated.[2] Either way, one's thoughts about it are pervasive and intrusive, occupying up to several hours a day. The DSM-5 categorizes BDD in the obsessive–compulsive spectrum, and distinguishes it from anorexia nervosa.
A fairly common mental disorder, affecting some 1.7% to 2.4% of the population, BDD usually starts during adolescence, and affects men and women roughly equally.[2] (The BDD subtype muscle dysmorphia, perceiving the body as too small, affects mostly males.)[3] Besides thinking about it, one repetitively checks and compares the perceived flaw, and can adopt unusual routines to avoid social contact that exposes it.[2] Fearing the stigma of vanity, one usually hides the preoccupation.[2] Commonly unsuspected even by psychiatrists, BDD has been greatly underdiagnosed.[2] Severely impairing quality of life via educational and occupational dysfunction and social isolation, BDD involves especially high rates of suicidal ideation and suicide attempts.[2]
These people deserve proper mental health treatment. Society is letting them down.
