mark this down as another reason pre-2000s basketball is better. back in the day, there was such a thing as back2back playoff games. nowadays, teams have AT LEAST one day off in between games, sometimes two, and sometimes even three. a seven games series can stretch out to two weeks. then theres three other rounds. i watch the playoffs every year. but everytime its over, im like "goddam do they need to shorten the playoff season." im all bballed out at that point.

playoff series are given 2 weeks time...even in the past, they had back to backs, but then had 3 days off after that

i find that hard to believe. either way, the way they have it set up, theres too much downtime inbetween games. its kinda frustrating, like your favorite show having 3-4 midseason breaks

Some people don't like change, we get it.

There's really no reason to have more than one day off between two games in the same city. The scheduling is TV related I'm sure, but I do agree that it seems more spread out than in the past. Being a Heat fan I'm not complaining though since it benefits our older guys.

It's more because of scheduling. The league tries not to put games on at the same time. But in the first round, they kind of have to with 16 teams going between 8 games. So you get the four games on Saturday and Sunday. Then on weekdays two on the same station and the other on NBA TV or ESPN that starts an hour before the maid games on TNT/ESPN.

Once the 2nd round begins, it's will go back to every other night for games.

I remember when I started to watch ball, all playoff games weren't even televised. And this was in the mid 90s.

Too bad we have to waste a week or so watching these first round series.
