"He's not offensively gifted though, he's no better than Bogut".
Prime Dwight was an amazing center, complete package.
He was putting up prime Shaq numbers, imagine if he had as many FGA as Shaq.

Dwight is actually the closest thing we've had to Shaq as far as a physical force goes. Before his back injury if he was anywhere within dunking distance you had to foul him or give up the dunk. It wasn't like people were doing hack a howard back on the Magic...he was a 60% ft shooter there. He got to the ft line so much because YOU HAD TO FOUL HIM or give up a dunk.
He wasn't great offensively, but it's hilarious how people want to make him out to be Mutombo or something...the guy averaged 23ppg for a season and was legit the MVP that season.

Great post:applause:
And this doesn't even include his elite defensive impact.
First it was the injuries in Orlando.
Then his injuries with the Lakers. Along with not wanting to play for D'antoni and the whole drama with Kobe and the Lakers affected his ego.
Now he's not even the 3rd option on this shit rockets team.
There's a reason the dude sucks this year, he doesn't give a single fck about that team anymore.
He already proved he could lead a team and if harden hasn't choked they would've gone farther.
Anyone that thinks he isn't still a top 3 center has lost it.

he was good back then, but he has always been terrible to watch. So robotic, no finesse.

great players dont just quit on their team, regardless of the situation. thats a piss poor excuse.
drummond, deandre jordan, boogie, horford, whiteside, marc gasol, duncan, and towns are all better than dwight right now, imo.
hes a solid defensive center who can finish alley oops (not as well as drummond or deandre though). He doesnt move as well as he used to either, hes not light on his feet like he used to be. that or he just stopped hustling.

lol...even now Dwight is more athletic than Drummond. Show me Drummond doing this:

I'll give you Dre though...but he's younger and never had back surgery. Dwight Howard is a top 5 athlete EVER in the NBA.

Dwight is lots of fun to watch :kobe:
At least he used to be.
I don't give a shit about "fundamentals" or any of that shit, he was explosive as hell and threw down crazy dunks.

Dude's getting underrated on a poisonous team.
No doubt in my mind he'll be WAY better on a team with a better that's focused, and has a good locker room.
He can still be good defensively, and has always been an elite rebounder.
Yeah, he's sucking right now, but this is someone that gave you a good 15/15 in the playoffs the last year, and 26/14 the year before.

Dwight has the same amount of FGA per game as Patrick fkn Beverley.
Imagine if Kobe or Lebron had less than 10 FGA, they wouldn't even get dressed for games.
Should he quit on his team, no. But I fully understand him not trying this season when his teammates are completely isolating him on offense and his coach isn't even trying to incorporate him.
And lol at your list of "better" centers.
Deandre on the Rockets without CP3 lobbying him:oldlol:
Marc Gasol, Duncan, and Horford:oldlol:
I'll give you Boogie, Whiteside, Drummond, and Towns, but it's all debatable.
Dwight on a solid team with a passing PG like CP3 would look much better than he does now.

They probably do this because he's a well known **** off the court and in the locker room and his teammates and coach probably hate him as a person.

Do you have any proof of this whatsoever? If not stfu.
From reports harden sounds the locker room issue and his teammates have publicly called out his lack of leadership.

He was definitely a much better player back then, because so much his game is predicated on athleticism, power, and speed. He would lead the league in dunks and alley oops pretty easily. And blocked shots and clog the lane like the best of em (dikembe, mourning, robinson, etc). He's still pretty good and probably could benefit from a different system. But having said that, he's imperfect, even back then. It's worth noting after this awesome 40 point game he scored 12 points the next game (first game of the '09 Finals) and averaged 15 ppg (.49 FG%) in the Finals against a front court of Andrew Bynum, Gasol, and Odom. Def good players at the time but not exactly all-defensive 1st teamers. Dwight isn't really an elite post player but he's great at some things for sure. I'd like to see him on the Hawks under coach Bud, with them maintaining one of or both of Horford/Milsap (since Splitter can never seem to stay healthy).
imagine if he had real talent
